Ephraim is a cake not turned
Hosea 7:1 (KJV) When I would have healed Israel, then the iniquity of Ephraim was discovered, and the wickedness of Samaria: for they commit falsehood; and the thief cometh in, and the troop of robbers spoileth without.
2 And they consider not in their hearts that I remember all their wickedness: now their own doings have beset them about; they are before my face.
3 They make the king glad with their wickedness, and the princes with their lies.
4 They are all adulterers, as an oven heated by the baker, who ceaseth from raising after he hath kneaded the dough, until it be leavened.
5 In the day of our king the princes have made him sick with bottles of wine; he stretched out his hand with scorners.
6 For they have made ready their heart like an oven, whiles they lie in wait: their baker sleepeth all the night; in the morning it burneth as a flaming fire.

Lest haply

Identifying as They, Them
In today’s world, it is trendy to “pick your pronouns”.
People say, “I identify as….”
It’s a trendy game, where people, perhaps to be noticed on Facebook, perhaps to pick up “likes”, perhaps hoping to be the next viral video “star”, may do and say outrageous things.
The problem with identifying as something other than what the Lord created a person to be is that words and actions contrary to the Word of God open the door to demonic influence.
The man who lived among the tombs had various pluralities attached to him.
Read through the nouns and pronouns. Emphasis added.
Mark 5:1 And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.
2 And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,
3 Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:
4 Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him.
5 And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.
6 But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him,

15 And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.
16 And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the swine.
17 And they began to pray him to depart out of their coasts.
18 And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him.
19 Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.

A Vending Machine?
The difference between our generation and those of Biblical times is that Israel recognized (after suffering) the cause and effect relationship between their actions…their worship of God or lack thereof…and the consequences experienced in their lives.
They forgot and relearned this lesson over and over.
It would be likely that if you asked the average person on the street, as is done sometimes, if the problems of modern society go back to its relationship to God and his laws, or the lack thereof, that very few would trace the problems of today back to lifestyles and worship contrary to God.
There is a presumption of modern society that anything can be done against the laws of God and then all you have to do (metaphorically) is to just flip a quarter in the God vending machine and presume that the blessings will still come out.
While there are various similar meanings of presumption in various online dictionaries, here is a good one…behavior that is rude or shows that you expect too much.
As someone said about the prodigal son, his father was not sending fried chicken to his son in the hog pen.
Here are a few scriptures along these lines; there are more.
Luke 15:11 And he said, A certain man had two sons:
12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.
13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.
14 And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.
15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.

What is Revelation Knowledge?
Revelation knowledge is knowledge that is not apparent to the senses. You cannot learn revelation knowledge by interaction with the natural world through the five senses: sight, smell, taste, touch, hearing.
The gospel, the message of Jesus Christ, is revelation knowledge.
Revelation knowledge is the knowledge that God has given in the Bible. This knowledge was given to holy men who spent time with God, who listened to God, and who were able to communicate messages from God.
II Peter 1:21For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
For example, Moses was on Mt. Sinai for 40 days and nights when he received the Ten Commandments.
Exodus 24:16 And the glory of the Lord abode upon mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days: and the seventh day he called unto Moses out of the midst of the cloud.
17 And the sight of the glory of the Lord was like devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of Israel.
18 And Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and gat him up into the mount: and Moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights.
David who slew Goliath, King David, was another man who sought the Lord. It is notable that when David makes reference to himself, he doesn’t give as credentials, or as we might say today, doesn’t give as his brand, that he killed Goliath, or that that he was King of Israel. Instead he makes reference to his worship of God…the sweet psalmist of Israel.
II Samuel 23:1 Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said,
Another example is Jesus. Jesus would withdraw from the crowds to pray.
Luke 5:15 But so much the more went there a fame abroad of him: and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities.
16 And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed.
There are other examples in the Bible that could be cited as well.
Born out of relationships with God, revelation messages were given to the world.
We would not know the significance of a baby born in Bethlehem, who grew up to teach and heal and later, being innocent, finally be betrayed, scourged, die on a cross in a death that would offer redemption to all who would receive it, and then resurrect from the dead… we would not understand that message without revelation knowledge.
Prophetic revelation knowledge helps us “connect the dots”.
Revelation knowledge from God is dealing with things unseen. The Bible deals with the things of eternity.
The fact that all knowledge cannot be understand through mental study only is brought out with Jesus’s conversation with Nicodemus. Nicodemus was highly trained as far as the Jewish scriptures and his mind could take him. Yet, he still had trouble grasping what Jesus was saying.
John 3:1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?
11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Achan and the Consequences of His Actions

Joshua 7:1 (KJV) But the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing: for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed thing: and the anger of the Lord was kindled against the children of Israel.

Today’s world has an attitude of “I can do what I want, it is my choice, my life, it doesn’t hurt anyone.”
In the case of Achan, that was not true.
His actions led to a subsequent battle loss of about thirty and six men.
There is no one whose actions do not affect others, in some way, for good or bad.
This happens at the level of individuals, families, work places, communities and nations.
It is particularly destructive when there is a judge, a legislator, an elected or appointed official, a corporate or other designated leader, that uses the office and powers to which he is granted, in a way never intended.
Then vast masses of people, nations, and international relations, can be affected.
Officials may break the law, be bribed, be blackmailed, and use their office for personal gain. When that occurs, the end result is suffering and destruction to the people they are supposed to be serving.
Proverbs 29:2 (KJV) When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
Exodus 23:1 Thou shalt not raise a false report: put not thine hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness.
2 Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest judgment:
3 Neither shalt thou countenance a poor man in his cause.
4 If thou meet thine enemy’s ox or his ass going astray, thou shalt surely bring it back to him again.
5 If thou see the ass of him that hateth thee lying under his burden, and wouldest forbear to help him, thou shalt surely help with him.
6 Thou shalt not wrest the judgment of thy poor in his cause.
7 Keep thee far from a false matter; and the innocent and righteous slay thou not: for I will not justify the wicked.
8 And thou shalt take no gift: for the gift blindeth the wise, and perverteth the words of the righteous.

Judicial Law -“so shalt thou put the evil away from among you”
There is woke progressive thinking and advocacy that criminals should be set free.
As mentioned in a prior post, this is because progressivism tries to move society away from the Biblical view that man has moral obligations and can know through the Word of God and conscience right from wrong, to a woke system that states that thoughts are simply chemical or electrical impulses in the brain and therefore, in the progressive, modernist, globalist view…therefore no one should be responsible for a “misfunction” “malfunction” or “misfiring”.
That kind of progressive thinking leads to the idea that there is no place for a Nuremberg II trial for international crime, and that society should instead deal with criminals in a way that is warm and fuzzy, full of teddy bears and rainbows.
As this idea is advanced in society, we see society moving towards lawlessness as thieves and murderers are released from prison to commit crimes again.
The question is…did Jesus advocate an end to law and order?
Jesus said:
Matthew 5:17 (KJV) Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
The sacrificial death of Christ did not do away with law and order, it did not do away with law and order overall, but only with the sacrificial system for sin where the blood of various animals was shed.
That system existed in types and shadows and was fulfilled in Christ. That was done away with after the cross.
Jesus was the Lamb slain before the foundation of the world.
John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
Revelation 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
9 If any man have an ear, let him hear.
The Ten Commandments, wisdom in Proverbs, tithing and more is still valid.
Actually, Jesus “took it up a notch” as we would say, as He dealt not only with outer actions, but also with things of the heart.

This is because after the death, burial, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ, the Spirit of God would now be available to live within individuals through the new birth, through being born again. Mankind would have access to greater internal strength through the Spirit of God, and through the Word of God, the Blood of Jesus, the Name of Jesus, the promises of God, and through the sacraments of the Church, to overcome the world, the flesh, and the devil.
John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
