Other Blogs

It is rare that I explain how this blog came to be.

I did have a job in an oil-field related job that went away during Covid. The same happened to many of you reading this, so explanation is not necessary.

In the meantime, I took the free time to try to improve some skills on this and other blogs.

Certain blogs developed certain themes. Certain blogs have changed over time and become more refined in the themes.

Here are some other blogs.  I do have others.

Covid and Covid-vaxx related posts, primarily reposts

I am dating this post so it does not come up in the post feed and only those who are led to find it, will find it.

Christmas Gift Ideas – Tip

Instead of buying something, offer to do something for someone that they either can’t do themselves or don’t have time to get around to doing.  Actually, that may be more appreciated than a wrapped present.

There is a wide open field of ideas connected to gifts of time or service .  You can make your own list of ideas for the people you know.

Give a ‘coupon’ of what you will do as a gift inside of a Christmas card…a homemade Christmas card can be created if it is a child giving the gift.

Some age-specific or geographical-specific ideas are:

  • mowing the lawn
  • shoveling snow
  • cleaning a flower bed
  • preparing a flower or vegetable bed for planting in the spring
  • cleaning out and organizing a shed, closet, garage, work space
  • cleaning out and wiping down shelves, cabinets
  • reading with a child on a regular basis
  • teaching a skill, such as breadmaking, to someone
  • teaching grandparents a computer skill or phone skill they need to know
  • polishing a grandfather’s boots or shoes
  • catching up someone’s sewing repairs…sewing on buttons, hemming clothing, ironing
  • committing to taking out trash on a regular basis
  • give someone a ride to church

There are all sorts of one-time or year-round or monthly gift ideas, tailored to what you know would be useful in any given situation.

Sometimes simply buying something is the easy way out of gift giving.  There can be no heart, no thought, nothing other than empty obligation when you rush into a sales aisle simply looking for something to buy.

A  gift of time and service might be more useful and more appreciated.

Tip – New Year’s Resolution – Use a Dictionary

dictionary

In the Old Testament, God told the children of Israel to possess the land.

In today’s world, the land that must be recaptured from the land of wokeness is vocabulary.

This is the process that the progressive left uses to change vocabulary.

A new term or concept is introduced in a manner of “cute” or “trendy” or “viral video”.

After a while, though quite ridiculous, it becomes a part of mainstream thought, because it goes unchallenged.

The idea that a man can have a baby would be an example.

What kind of thinking is this that defies the laws of biology?

What kind of sloppy thinking is this?

Men regard its nature and cause as divine from ignorance and wonder….

— HippocratesOn the Sacred Disease

What would scientists of prior centuries say about some of the recent, woke, unproven ideas?

After the introduction of a term with an unnatural, unscientific, unproven, untested definition, i.e., a  “woke” definition, those who wish to use the traditional form of the word may begin to self-censor…If I say that, what are the consequences?  Will I lose likes on Facebook And in the case of well known celebrities or politicians, Will the press criticize me for not going with the new form of the word?

Then there is persecution against not only the word, but also against the whole cultural lifestyle from which the original word emerged, and against those who prefer the old cultural lifestyle.

Let’s take some common words:  man, woman, marriage, family.

Have you seen the above process in action?

Whenever you question the use of a word, look up the historical meaning of a word.  Don’t look at the modern day meaning, but the historical meaning.

Historical meanings came about as society moved towards law and order, based in part on a Judeo/Christian influence.

Western society is now is a state of de-evolution.  Vocabulary is de-volving as well.

A New Year’s Tip…use a dictionary to look up original, historical meanings of words.

Christmas Gifts – Tip

Here are some thoughts about gifts.

  • Get a book or video that will help someone learn about Jesus or grow in his/her Christian faith.
  • If you have the opportunity to buy the same item from two different vendors, support the Christian or conservative business rather that the global oligarchical system.  Use your purchasing power in line with your values.

Some ideas for either those who have everything or ideas that will benefit whole families year round, are subscriptions, or individual shows.  You can contact the companies themselves with any questions on that.

Sight & Sound Theatres®

These are extremely high quality Biblical or Christian-themed productions.   You can get a year-long virtual subscription to view them.

PureFlix

Currently, at the time of this writing, The Chosen is showing on PureFlix.  It took me over a year to follow someone’s suggestion to watch the series, but I have to agree with the person who recommended it, it is very good.  It would be a good show to have playing in the background during the Christmas season, when maybe you have some visitors who don’t know the Lord.

On Pureflix, there are videos and resources for all ages, including some documentaries that are good for homeschoolers.  It definitely would be worth the money to give a subscription as a gift.  The bonus is, you would cover all age groups in a family at the same time.

Superbook

These are high quality Christian-themed, Biblically-themed cartoons created by CBN.  Many are in foreign languages as well.  Again, this is a good thing to play when neighborhood children are over who may not know Jesus.  These short 1/2 hour shows draw the relationship between a past Biblical historical event and a modern challenge a child might face.  There are some available on YouTube that you can watch.  I believe there is a membership where you get the newest creations by subscription.

VeggieTales and Yippee

These are available through TBN.  I believe there are some videos for purchase, at least for VeggieTales.  TBN has a traditional children’s cartoon/children’s showtime on Saturday mornings.  You can learn more at the TBN site.  TBN is a worldwide Christian television station that has programming for all ages, as well as TBN related television stations in other parts of the world and in other languages.

Christmas Gift Tips

If you are looking for ideas for Christmas, here are some.

Go to Samaritan’s Purse and purchase a gift in someone else’s name.  If you go to their website, then to the Video Tab dropdown, there are various programs…Agriculture, Construction, Water & Hygiene and other programs…where you can donate to help someone else’s life.

Go to Samaritan’s Purse and donate to their Operation Christmas Child.   The reason I pick Samaritan’s Purse over other similar programs is because they also share the gospel.

Mike Lindell has done a tremendous amount of work exposing election fraud.  He also runs the https://lindellrecoverynetwork.org/

You can purchase his high quality products from him at https://mypillow.com

Alternatively, offer to serve in some way instead of buying a gift.  Give a gift of time and labor in some way.

Cleaning Up Your Email Box – Tip

If you are overwhelmed by email, here is a tip. You can get control of your email box.

Because people use different email servers, I won’t go through the instructions for each one.

I found this one for gmail by going to Youtube and the search term was “setting up gmail filters”.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9Uhr7RhyiM

Filter incoming emails. Send all the emails from one company, church, person, or group to a label on the side column, by setting up a filter. To set up a filter, find someone who has made a video about the process for your particular email server. One instructional video for gmail is listed above.

YouTube is a great resource for finding out how to do things.

The other thing you can do is set yourself a discipline of a certain number of unnecessary groups or companies you can unsubscribe from – say 5 to 10 a day, until you have gotten rid of all the unnecessary emails.

If you will implement these two tasks, you can take charge of your email.

Folic Acid Pregnancy Tips

Folic acid is extremely important in the development of a fetus.

The Pill Problem: Oral Contraceptives Deplete More Nutrients Than Any Other Class of Drugs

Birth control pills destroy it.

Therefore, there need to be a physcian’s recommendation on how to get the folic acid levels up to par, perhaps with a good pre-natal.  Talk to your doctor, but find one who is educated in nutrition, not just in medications.
