False Expectations

William Blake whore babylon

One of the terms of today’s society is “a body of information”.

In today’s world, there is such a body of misinformation that it leads people to the wrong conclusion, or false expectations, especially about God.  There is a lot of questioning of God and blaming of God.

Wrong information leads to wrong understanding, wrong believing, and wrong actions.  Or, a lack of information may make it impossible to make progress.

What do I mean?

Let’s think about an airplane.

Let’s say you have never seen an airplane before.  You have heard rumors that an airplane can fly in the air.  You come across one in a field.

You look at it, you walk around it, you consider it.  How can this heavy piece of metal fly in the air?

You laugh and scoff at it.  You might even curse the plane because you can’t budge it.

Maybe you find the door to the cockpit.  You go in there; you look at the instruments. You sit in the pilot’s seat. You have no clue what it is all about.  You leave.  The plane remains in the field.

After you leave the airplane, and have walked a distance, you turn around.

You see a pilot walk to the airplane, enter the airplane, start it up, take off and fly.

What was the difference?  Knowledge.  Training.  Expertise.   And that did not come in one day, though the pilot might have made it look easy.

Society overall, western society overall, historical western society overall, in the past, made it a bit easier to find God, to relate to God, to follow the Lord.

Then society began an ever faster downfall deeper and deeper into sin.

The first “d” curse word was in Gone with the Wind in 1934.  The first “f” curse word onscreen was in 1970.

In other words, entertainment was not the sewer it is today.

Character used to be important.

Keeping your word used to be a matter of honor, not something kept only long enough to get a vote.

Prayer and the Bible use to be honored in the schools.

Church services used to be held in the U.S. Capitol.

It used to be a shame to be on welfare, not an entitlement.

“Man” and “woman” were based on Biblical definitions, for the Biblical purposes of having a family.

Family was the building block of society.

It was recognized that God created man and that man (in the generic sense, meaning mankind) had a moral obligation to God.

Then evolution, the still unproven fairy tale, which was popularly pushed, just as agendas are pushed today…like Russian collusion, Covid jabs (dangerous), masks, etc….the evolution agenda was pushed and that agenda pushed God out of society.  It was profitable to certain parts of society to push God out and market ungodly lifestyles.  There is a lot of money to be made in certain activities contrary to the Word of God.  There is a lot of power to be held over men as men seek to remove God from a society.

Someone is making a lot of money by tearing down the border and letting drugs pour across the border.  There’s a lot of money to be made for the armaments industry while running a proxy war in Ukraine and laundering money back to corrupt politicians through aid packages.  But I digress.

When the knowledge of God was freely recognized in society, there was a certain framework of the Ten Commandments that was recognized as well.  Property rights, the right to life, family rights, priority of the mother and father over the children, honoring God in society, character in education, honest facts in science…these and more were more abundant and flourishing at other points in history.

We have lost that and just like the serpent’s lie in the beginning…ye shall be as gods…the serpent implied that God was withholding something from Adam and Eve…and they chose to live contrary to God, and found out that the results were downward, not upward…so as a society throws off the restraints of the moral law of God, of the Ten Commandments, which at the beginning, according to the sly whispers of the serpent will be fun…liberating…freeing…the end result is a place like…San Francisco with the drugs and refuse on the streets…or Chicago with the murders…or open borders where illegals enter the houses of businesses and citizens to steal…or drive by shootings…or drugs…or fentanyl.  It all sounds so freeing at the beginning, but the wages of sin, the wages of living after the flesh, is death.

Romans 8:13  For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

Just as you would never learn to fly a plane by taking a quick seat in the cockpit, so you can never learn about God and learn to walk in His ways without serious effort…especially in this world which is so contrary to God at every turn…in entertainment; books; news reporting; perversion of science; misuse of technology; redefinition of historical terms, dictionary terms, and the rewriting of history; AIs, and the rebellion against law and order, even in those who are supposed to uphold it; and the lack of societal recognition of the necessity of the pre-eminence of God and His Word.

Revelation 14:7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,

10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Revelation 17:1  And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:

2 With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.

3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.

4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:

5 And upon her forehead was a name written, Mystery, Babylon The Great, The Mother Of Harlots And Abominations Of The Earth.

Revelation 18:1 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.

2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.

7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.

8 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.

9 And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,

10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.

11 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:

12 The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,

13 And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.

14 And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all.

15 The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,

16 And saying, Alas, alas that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!

17 For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,

18 And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city!

19 And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.

20 Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her.

21 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.

22 And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee;

23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.

24 And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.

To avoid being one of the souls of men  captured by Babylon, takes continual, dedicated, and earnest seeking  for the Lord, to find the Lord, to follow the Lord.  A casual visit to church once or twice a year is not enough to escape the whirlwinds of damnation falling upon Babylon.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.

13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

14 And I will be found of you, saith the Lord: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the Lord; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.
