What Does the Bible Say About Stealing Money?
The title is a an actual question that was asked and this post will cover some scriptures in reply. There are more scriptures in the Bible as well.
One of the Ten Commandments says this.
Exodus 20:15 Thou shalt not steal.
After the Ten Commandments, the Lord God spoke to Moses and gave additional commandments. Again, this list is not all inclusive.
Leviticus 6:1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
2 If a soul sin, and commit a trespass against the Lord, and lie unto his neighbour in that which was delivered him to keep, or in fellowship, or in a thing taken away by violence, or hath deceived his neighbour;
3 Or have found that which was lost, and lieth concerning it, and sweareth falsely; in any of all these that a man doeth, sinning therein:
4 Then it shall be, because he hath sinned, and is guilty, that he shall restore that which he took violently away, or the thing which he hath deceitfully gotten, or that which was delivered him to keep, or the lost thing which he found,
5 Or all that about which he hath sworn falsely; he shall even restore it in the principal, and shall add the fifth part more thereto, and give it unto him to whom it appertaineth, in the day of his trespass offering.
Here’s another scripture.
Exodus 22:1 If a man shall steal an ox, or a sheep, and kill it, or sell it; he shall restore five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep. [emphasis added]
The Hebrew people followed this law. In the two sections of scripture below, the applicable verse will be bolded.
II Samuel 12:12 And the Lord sent Nathan unto David. And he came unto him, and said unto him, There were two men in one city; the one rich, and the other poor.
2 The rich man had exceeding many flocks and herds:
3 But the poor man had nothing, save one little ewe lamb, which he had bought and nourished up: and it grew up together with him, and with his children; it did eat of his own meat, and drank of his own cup, and lay in his bosom, and was unto him as a daughter.
4 And there came a traveller unto the rich man, and he spared to take of his own flock and of his own herd, to dress for the wayfaring man that was come unto him; but took the poor man’s lamb, and dressed it for the man that was come to him.
5 And David’s anger was greatly kindled against the man; and he said to Nathan, As the Lord liveth, the man that hath done this thing shall surely die:
6 And he shall restore the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing, and because he had no pity.
Luke 19:1 And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho.
2 And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich.
3 And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature.
4 And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way.
5 And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house.
6 And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.
7 And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner.
8 And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord: Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.
9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.
God has nothing against prosperity and riches. The patriarchs: Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph (who rose to be co-regent of Egypt, directly under Pharoah), Job, Boaz, and others are indicative of the prosperity God gave to those people who walked with him and obeyed him.
Job went through a trial and when he successfully went through it, God gave him twice as much as before. So God did not have a problem with Job being well off.
Job 42:10 And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.
If you read through the Old Testament you will find that God is very much for property rights.
The problem comes in the wrong use of wealth.
Like anything, wealth is under a set of laws set up by God. It is when those laws are broken is when there is a problem, it is not in the wealth itself.
Proverbs 11:24 There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.
Proverbs 28:27 He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse.
Job, who was wealthy and successful, referred to his charitable works.
Job 29:12 Because I delivered the poor that cried, and the fatherless, and him that had none to help him.
13 The blessing of him that was ready to perish came upon me: and I caused the widow’s heart to sing for joy.
14 I put on righteousness, and it clothed me: my judgment was as a robe and a diadem.
15 I was eyes to the blind, and feet was I to the lame.
16 I was a father to the poor: and the cause which I knew not I searched out.
17 And I brake the jaws of the wicked, and plucked the spoil out of his teeth.
One of the most common forms of theft is the theft of not paying the tithe. Now a lot of people dispute and refute that, trying to get out of the responsibility of tithing in various ways.
Some say that we are not under the law. But the tithe was given before the law of Moses. Abraham paid tithes to Mechesidek. That was before the law was instituted. The law came through Moses. The historical timeline is Abraham…Isaac…Jacob….Levi (one of the 12 sons of Jacob)….and later, Moses of the tribe of Levi. So tithing started way before it was codified into law under Moses.
This event was of Abraham giving tithes to Mechisedec is referred to in the New Testament (as well as in the Old Testament).
Hebrews 7:1 For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;
2 To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;
“A tenth part of all”… a tithe means 1/10 or a tenth part or 10%.
In the verse listed below, Jesus was not saying “not” to tithe, he was saying that that alone was not enough…to do other things and not to leave the other (tithing ) undone.
Matthew 23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
Where the Bible actually calls out a lack of tithing to be theft is in Malachi. This is the famous tithing chapter. The whole chapter is very good to read, but I’m going to focus on the tithing verses. And I am going to bold the one that relates to the initial question, What does the Bible say about stealing money?
Malachi 3:6 For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
7 Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the Lord of hosts. But ye said, Wherein shall we return?
8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.
9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.
10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts.
12 And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the Lord of hosts.
In reference to the importance of giving tithes and offering, discerning ministers, in talking about Job, have pointed out that satan first took his cattle and oxen so that he could no longer give offerings to the Lord.
Job was at the point where he had nothing as he had lost everything. After God went through his discussion with Job, God addressed Job’s friends. The Lord told the friends to give Job bullocks and rams so that Job could offer up a burnt offering for them. It was after that offering, that Job’s fortunes were restored.
Job 42: 7 And it was so, that after the Lord had spoken these words unto Job, the Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath.
8 Therefore take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you after your folly, in that ye have not spoken of me the thing which is right, like my servant Job.
9 So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did according as the Lord commanded them: the Lord also accepted Job.
10 And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.
While not taking away from what has already been said, as it is applicable, let’s modernize the thought of the theft of money to something that is happening today.
Sometimes theft comes in a form that is not as apparent. One of the more recent forms of theft is the expansion of the money supply which has led to inflation. That is a form of theft.
Unnecessary government regulations that oppress businesses and force them to shut down is another form of theft.
You can probably think of others.
It is apparent that this manipulation of the economy is engineered by a certain group that wants to amass power and wealth to itself.
The Bible says that this will happen in the last days. And this is verdict.
James 5:3 Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.
2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten.
3 Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.
This is a bit of a curious verse as gold and silver don’t rust.
In looking through some various resources on the question, while there is no one consensus, there is a general thought goes something like this.
A certain amount of the amassed gold and silver was to have been used for something other than simply amassing wealth for the sake of self-adulation. That part, which should have been sent out for some good, for some perishable good that would have been a timely help in the perishable realm, and was not sent out, in the last judgement will turn and be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire.
God’s laws, if followed, will solve the problems of personal finances as well as those of society as a whole. However, like the Constitution, when these laws are tinkered with, things get worse.
When it comes to money, tithing, and other financial laws as well, God set up a system like gravity. A person who would want to disprove the law of gravity would be find that he cannot break the law, but that the law breaks him.

Hosea 14
Hosea 14:1 O Israel, return unto the Lord thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity.
2 Take with you words, and turn to the Lord: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.
3 Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, Ye are our gods: for in thee the fatherless findeth mercy.
4 I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him.
5 I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall grow as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon.
6 His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive tree, and his smell as Lebanon.
7 They that dwell under his shadow shall return; they shall revive as the corn, and grow as the vine: the scent thereof shall be as the wine of Lebanon.
8 Ephraim shall say, What have I to do any more with idols? I have heard him, and observed him: I am like a green fir tree. From me is thy fruit found.
9 Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the Lord are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.

Cleaning Up Your Email Box – Tip
If you are overwhelmed by email, here is a tip. You can get control of your email box.
Because people use different email servers, I won’t go through the instructions for each one.
I found this one for gmail by going to Youtube and the search term was “setting up gmail filters”.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9Uhr7RhyiM
Filter incoming emails. Send all the emails from one company, church, person, or group to a label on the side column, by setting up a filter. To set up a filter, find someone who has made a video about the process for your particular email server. One instructional video for gmail is listed above.
YouTube is a great resource for finding out how to do things.
The other thing you can do is set yourself a discipline of a certain number of unnecessary groups or companies you can unsubscribe from – say 5 to 10 a day, until you have gotten rid of all the unnecessary emails.
If you will implement these two tasks, you can take charge of your email.

Psalm 103
Psalm 103:1 Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
6 The Lord executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.
7 He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.
8 The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
9 He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.
10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him.
14 For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.
15 As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.
16 For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.
17 But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children;
18 To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.
19 The Lord hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.
20 Bless the Lord, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.
21 Bless ye the Lord, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.
22 Bless the Lord, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the Lord, O my soul.

Isaiah 58
Isaiah 58:1 Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.
2 Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God.
3 Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labours.
4 Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high.
5 Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the Lord?
6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?
7 Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?
8 Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy reward.
9 Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;
10 And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noon day:
11 And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.
12 And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.
13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.

Repost: Fields Of Gold (arr. Cohen)
This is a beautiful song but I couldn’t justify putting it on the blog for any reason…until I saw an article on crimes against humanity.
There is a phrase…is it a cooking phrase? I’m not sure. The phrase is that something “pairs well”.
In that case, the song, sung by a child, seems to “pair well” with the article, as this generation of children have had to bear suffering they should not have had to bear due to choices made by those who should have been their protectors.
And if you will listen, there are multiple layers of meaning that apply to today.
Matthew 18:2 Jesus called a little child to himself, and set him in the middle of them 3 and said, “Most certainly I tell you, unless you turn and become as little children, you will in no way enter into the Kingdom of Heaven. 4 Whoever therefore humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven. 5 Whoever receives one such little child in my name receives me, 6 but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him if a huge millstone were hung around his neck and that he were sunk in the depths of the sea.
Huge profits have been made at the cost of human life and the tearing down of society and the nations.
James 5:1 Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.
2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten.
3 Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.
4 Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth.
5 Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.
6 Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you.
I Samuel 30:1 And it came to pass, when David and his men were come to Ziklag on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the south, and Ziklag, and smitten Ziklag, and burned it with fire;
2 And had taken the women captives, that were therein: they slew not any, either great or small, but carried them away, and went on their way.
3 So David and his men came to the city, and, behold, it was burned with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captives.
4 Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep.

Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.
Gustave Doré, Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons
Joshua 10:1 (KJV) Now it came to pass, when Adonizedec king of Jerusalem had heard how Joshua had taken Ai, and had utterly destroyed it; as he had done to Jericho and her king, so he had done to Ai and her king; and how the inhabitants of Gibeon had made peace with Israel, and were among them;
2 That they feared greatly, because Gibeon was a great city, as one of the royal cities, and because it was greater than Ai, and all the men thereof were mighty.
3 Wherefore Adonizedec king of Jerusalem, sent unto Hoham king of Hebron, and unto Piram king of Jarmuth, and unto Japhia king of Lachish, and unto Debir king of Eglon, saying,
4 Come up unto me, and help me, that we may smite Gibeon: for it hath made peace with Joshua and with the children of Israel.
5 Therefore the five kings of the Amorites, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, the king of Eglon, gathered themselves together, and went up, they and all their hosts, and encamped before Gibeon, and made war against it.
6 And the men of Gibeon sent unto Joshua to the camp to Gilgal, saying, Slack not thy hand from thy servants; come up to us quickly, and save us, and help us: for all the kings of the Amorites that dwell in the mountains are gathered together against us.
7 So Joshua ascended from Gilgal, he, and all the people of war with him, and all the mighty men of valour.
8 And the Lord said unto Joshua, Fear them not: for I have delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee.
9 Joshua therefore came unto them suddenly, and went up from Gilgal all night.
10 And the Lord discomfited them before Israel, and slew them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, and chased them along the way that goeth up to Bethhoron, and smote them to Azekah, and unto Makkedah.
11 And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the going down to Bethhoron, that the Lord cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more which died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword.
12 Then spake Joshua to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.
13 And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.
14 And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the Lord hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the Lord fought for Israel.
15 And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, unto the camp to Gilgal.
16 But these five kings fled, and hid themselves in a cave at Makkedah.
17 And it was told Joshua, saying, The five kings are found hid in a cave at Makkedah.
18 And Joshua said, Roll great stones upon the mouth of the cave, and set men by it for to keep them:
19 And stay ye not, but pursue after your enemies, and smite the hindmost of them; suffer them not to enter into their cities: for the Lord your God hath delivered them into your hand.
20 And it came to pass, when Joshua and the children of Israel had made an end of slaying them with a very great slaughter, till they were consumed, that the rest which remained of them entered into fenced cities.
21 And all the people returned to the camp to Joshua at Makkedah in peace: none moved his tongue against any of the children of Israel.
22 Then said Joshua, Open the mouth of the cave, and bring out those five kings unto me out of the cave.
23 And they did so, and brought forth those five kings unto him out of the cave, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, and the king of Eglon.
24 And it came to pass, when they brought out those kings unto Joshua, that Joshua called for all the men of Israel, and said unto the captains of the men of war which went with him, Come near, put your feet upon the necks of these kings. And they came near, and put their feet upon the necks of them.
25 And Joshua said unto them, Fear not, nor be dismayed, be strong and of good courage: for thus shall the Lord do to all your enemies against whom ye fight.
26 And afterward Joshua smote them, and slew them, and hanged them on five trees: and they were hanging upon the trees until the evening.
27 And it came to pass at the time of the going down of the sun, that Joshua commanded, and they took them down off the trees, and cast them into the cave wherein they had been hid, and laid great stones in the cave’s mouth, which remain until this very day.
28 And that day Joshua took Makkedah, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof he utterly destroyed, them, and all the souls that were therein; he let none remain: and he did to the king of Makkedah as he did unto the king of Jericho.
29 Then Joshua passed from Makkedah, and all Israel with him, unto Libnah, and fought against Libnah:
30 And the Lord delivered it also, and the king thereof, into the hand of Israel; and he smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein; he let none remain in it; but did unto the king thereof as he did unto the king of Jericho.
31 And Joshua passed from Libnah, and all Israel with him, unto Lachish, and encamped against it, and fought against it:
32 And the Lord delivered Lachish into the hand of Israel, which took it on the second day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein, according to all that he had done to Libnah.
33 Then Horam king of Gezer came up to help Lachish; and Joshua smote him and his people, until he had left him none remaining.
34 And from Lachish Joshua passed unto Eglon, and all Israel with him; and they encamped against it, and fought against it:
35 And they took it on that day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein he utterly destroyed that day, according to all that he had done to Lachish.
36 And Joshua went up from Eglon, and all Israel with him, unto Hebron; and they fought against it:
37 And they took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof, and all the cities thereof, and all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining, according to all that he had done to Eglon; but destroyed it utterly, and all the souls that were therein.
38 And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, to Debir; and fought against it:
39 And he took it, and the king thereof, and all the cities thereof; and they smote them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining: as he had done to Hebron, so he did to Debir, and to the king thereof; as he had done also to Libnah, and to her king.
40 So Joshua smote all the country of the hills, and of the south, and of the vale, and of the springs, and all their kings: he left none remaining, but utterly destroyed all that breathed, as the Lord God of Israel commanded.
41 And Joshua smote them from Kadeshbarnea even unto Gaza, and all the country of Goshen, even unto Gibeon.
42 And all these kings and their land did Joshua take at one time, because the Lord God of Israel fought for Israel.
43 And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, unto the camp to Gilgal.

The Leap to Experience
How can you have faith in a God you cannot see? How can you experience God?
Words can only point to an experience. How can someone, for example, describe the smell of coffee? The only way would be to sit a person down, and say, “I am going to open a can of coffee grounds, and when you smell it, that is the smell of coffee.” There really is no way to describe the smell of coffee, but to lead a person to the experience, where ultimately, the person must experience the smell of coffee for himself or herself.
How does a child learn to ride a bike? A parent may hold the child on the bike for a little while he or she is learning, the parent might catch the child if he or she begins to fall, the parent might tell the child to sit up straight and try to give some hints, but the child has to “catch” the experience himself or herself and learn to balance and pedal at the same time.
A teacher can try to organize the material, give some examples, but the student has to have the “light bulb” moment when the knowledge catches on.
And so it is with God and faith. Apologetics and those who work in that discipline can give you the historical facts. Archeologists can confirm Biblical history.
You can learn of the fulfilled prophecies in the Old Testament that point to Christ. The prophet Micah said he would be born in Bethlehem. Jesus was born in Bethlehem. The prophet Isaiah described the redemptive work of Christ in Isaiah 53. Many other prophecies were fulfilled in the life of Jesus Christ.
Like the various aids and hints on riding a bike, the scriptures, the testimonies, the law helps guide a person to the reality of Jesus Christ.
Galatians 3:23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
Isaiah 9:2 The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.
Matthew 4:16 The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.
16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
18 No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
19 And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?
20 And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.
21 And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.
22 Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?
23 He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.
24 And they which were sent were of the Pharisees.
25 And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?
26 John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;
27 He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe’s latchet I am not worthy to unloose.
28 These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.
29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
30 This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.
31 And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.
32 And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.
33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.
34 And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

Watch Your Mouth
While the proper use of words are important to one’s own life and that of one’s family, this post is going to address a larger issue.
This will give an overview of how progressives attempt to capture the upper hand of narratives through the use of words.
The reason this is being addressed is because it is through the use of words that the progressives seek to take down society.
Regardless of how much virtue and character and uprightness you have in your own personal life, so you perhaps feel that this has nothing to do with you, you still are part of society overall. If you do not at least understand the basics of what the progressives do, you can become a pawn in their hands and unwittingly be used against your interests and values.
It is like people who turn their capital over to investment firms only to find out that those investment firms invest contrary to the customer’s own personal beliefs.
Back to the use of words….
It is important not to adopt the words of the left.
In this post, the term progressives is used loosely to cover communists, atheists, modernists, secularists, satanists and those who engage in anti-Christ doctrines…those who attempt to progress society without the standards of the Lord God.
The agenda of these groups is evil. However, they do understand one very significant principle.
The principle they excel in is the diabolical use of words and vocabulary.
Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
This is not surprising. There are those who are of their father, the devil, and the lusts of their father they will do. He was a murder from the beginning and abode not in the truth.
John 8:6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.
John 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
John 8:43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.
John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
John 8:45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.
Recorded in Genesis, the devil’s words to Eve were, “Yea, hath God said?”
Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
By casting doubt on the word of God, satan tempted Eve. She listened to wrong words, doubted God, and disobeyed the commandment of God. Adam followed Eve. With disobedience to the commandment of God, sin, sickness and death entered the world. Adam and Eve were banished from the garden of Eden.
That Fall of mankind ultimately has brought us to where we are today.
Mankind did not evolve from the slime. Mankind was created in the image of God and fell through disobedience. If you doubt that, if you believe that all societies prior to today were primitive, then consider this. In some architechtural ruins, there is evidence of high level inventions. How did that happen unless in the beginning mankind was already endowed with great abilities from his Creator, but those abilities were lessened and degraded after the Fall? Mankind lost abilities after the fall in the garden of Eden. It is a matter of de-volution, not evolution.
So words matter. Listening to the right words matters. Following the right words matters.
Jesus is the Word made flesh. In the beginning was the Word and the Word was God and the word was with God, the same was in the beginning with God.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
The Word of God, the Bible, gives a primacy to words.
Psalm 1:1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
Psalm 1:2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
Hebrews 2:1 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
Hebrews 2:2 For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;
Hebrews 2:3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
Acts 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
Revelation 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King Of Kings, And Lord Of Lords.
Ephesians 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Matthew 8:8 The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.
Mark 11:23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
We could go on with many more related scriptures. If you have a chain reference Bible or a concordance, you can find many other scriptures besides the ones listed. The topic of words and the proper use of the tongue is one that is covered over and over in the Bible.
Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
One of the topics, one of the words Jesus spoke about, were words of unity.
Jesus prayed for unity. As a matter of fact, he indicated that the unity of believers would be on of the things that would cause the world to believe on Him.
John 17:20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
The importance of unity was understood in the Old Testament.
Psalm 133:1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
2 It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;
3 As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.
All of the above is necessary as a bit of a background for the topic at hand. The topic is how progressives use words to change society and how people who don’t want a progressive society need to understand these tactics and resist them and stand on the offensive against these tactics of the manipulation of words.
Progressives tell you that they want to include everyone…that is, until “everyone” believes something other than the progressive narrative.
The problem is that conservatives or Christians are generally a bit more accepting or kind than progressives. They want to be thought of as “nice” or “not offensive”.
So kinder people, but perhaps people who are ignorant of what is at stake, may adopt the left’s vocabulary. Politicians might adopt it because they don’t want to be ridiculed or talked about in the leftist press. But on an everyday level, people may adopt a vocabulary they really don’t believe in because they don’t want to appear “mean” or don’t want to “offend” or lose a neighbor’s friendship. They want to appear “inclusive” and don’t want to be branded as “non-inclusive” because they might lose likes on Facebook, be branded as a “meanie” or even deplatformed.
There are lots of reasons why people may succumb to the temptation of using wrong words. Ignorance is one of them.
The fact is, it is dangerous to adopt the words of the progressives. It is dangerous to society because it moves the posts and pillars of society. Remember the primacy of words discussed above.
I would go so far as to say it is sin.
Example.
“Woman’s choice”. No, actually, it is the murder of a baby.
“Woman’s health care”. Ditto as above.
“Family planning”. Murder of fetuses, of babies.
“Planned parenthood”. Abortion clinics.
“Birthing person”. There is no such thing as a “birthing person”. A person who gives birth can only be a mother, a female, born a female. Not a man. To use the term “birthing person”implies certain things about the person using that term. One of the things it implies is that the person or group using that term denies the truth of the Word of God that honors the Lord God as Creator who created male and female.
“Diversity”. This is a term that is not what it seems to be. The word “diversity” has become a method by which a minority is used with the pretext of serving the interests of the minority, but actually it is not the minority group that is benefitted. Ultimately, a small group, behind the scenes, in power, uses the issue of “diversity” as a way to funnel money and power for their own oligarchial purposes. That money can be used, for example, to pay lots and lots of TV time to advertise for radical candidates, in the name of “diversity”. But these candidates are never as they seem. Looking back, do their words match up with their subsequent actions?
If you doubt this look at all the “wars on” “whatever” that have been touted through the years. Who is richer and has more power? Does the minority group that was touted as being in need end up having a better life or do those who used the issue of diversity or “war” on an unsuspecting population, end up manipulating that topic for their own benefit?
This is why it is dangerous to use their language. They really don’t care about these topics in the way that they say they care about them. It is a form of double speak. These oligarchs and their mouthpieces attempt to convince good-hearted people who live and work at a “working man’s” level of society, that they, the oligarchs, really care about an issue, when they, the oligarchs, don’t. These oligarchs who operate in the background, and their mouthpieces, care about the collapse of western civilization and the bringing in of a total new world order, “a great reset”, as a book by the same name indicates. And through that “Great Reset” which they are pushing for, they hope to attain even greater power and wealth than what they currently have.
Back to words. Don’t let them push you in a corner using their words. They are helpless if you are on the offense and push back. They use domination and various psychological tricks to move the goal post and push society in the direction they want. These rules were written by Saul Alinsky in Rules for Radicals. Saul Alinsky, in his writings, makes mention of Lucifer, which is the name of this creature before the fall from heaven, when it became known as satan.
Once enough of the conversation has been changed and enough people have been brainwashed into the wrong narrative, politicians, afraid of losing their place, are more susceptible to putting in legislation that would not have made any sense 30 years ago, 20 years ago, ten years ago, or even five years ago, but now, politicians are afraid, because their constituents are using the same language as the progressives.
This is why every voice is important. Every voice that refuses to be silenced is important. Every voice that refuses to be brainwashed is important. Every voice that pushes back makes the job of the progressives harder.
Having said all that, I’m going to take this to the next level of some of the next goal posts that I see the progressives attacking. This is not the first time this has been written about recently, but it is good to review what progressives are doing so that they can’t accomplish their purposes.
There is an agenda. The progressives throw out some poison through an article or event. They watch what happens. They see how society reacts. They see if they can use it to weaken society. If it doesn’t work, they try something else.
Their principle is “never let a crisis go to waste” and if they can create a crisis, a ruckus of some sort, they will use that to divide and conquer society if they can.
So this is where I see them going next, and again; other people see this as well. But for those who are unfamiliar with this, you need to know this.
Recently, there have been some agendas to use the war of words against some conservative groups. There have been implications that the use of patriotic symbols implies some kind of radical or terrorist group.
Now the, newest, latest along these lines, in the case of Catholics, is that the use of the rosary implies that these groups who pray the rosary are some kind of radicals. This is a lie about Catholics; Catholics are not radicals for praying the rosary. There was a hit piece written in The Atlantic that implies this.
Whether you do or don’t totally agree with a particular conservative or religious group, do not get on the bandwagon of allowing those words to be words that you adopt.
What goes around, comes around.
Jesus talked about the power of oneness.
Mark 9:40 For he that is not against us is on our part.
Conservative voices form a wide swath through many layers of conservatism, some more active or not, and through various denominations.
If the progressives start going after a denomination that is “not yours”, don’t get on that bandwagon. Because if they eliminate one denomination, the next one they might go after is yours.
They might criticize your group for something else. If they can succeed in picking off one group, then they can freeze and target another group. These are Saul Alinsky’s tactics. Don’t let them draw you into imitating them.
Do not feed into this.
Remember the words of Jesus.
Mark 9:40 For he that is not against us is on our part.
If you don’t understand why another denomination does something a certain way, as long as that denomination is preaching faith in Jesus Christ as the way to salvation, leave it alone.
The oneness of power will come with unity.
Satan knows that. His time is short. And he will use division as an attempt to weaken the body of Christ and conservativies. He will use words to try to cause division within the various members and denominations of the body of Christ. He will drop his poison in certain articles and see if jealousy and hatred can cause division.
That tactic worked in the case of President Trump. It was sad to see someone of obvious talent be fought by so many people. And look where we are today.
A lack of unity will keep the power of God from operating. It doesn’t mean that everyone is exactly the same or works in exactly the same way or even focuses on exactly the same target. But they can work together in a larger sense without fighting one another. They recognize that the enemy is ultimately, satan, and politically, communism and progressivism.
I mentioned this in another post more extensively, but I was in a position to listen to various conservatives talk about how President Trump had “meanie tweets” and so I was told that they wouldn’t vote for him. The “meanie tweet” narrative was started and then some conservatives picked it up. It is a prime example of how this works.
Satan, who comes to steal, kill, and destroyed accomplished those objectives through a “meanie tweet” narrative and voter fraud. There is destroyed economy, a destroyed border, lockdowns, sickness, death, inflation. Satan always comes with soft words. Satan understands that he has to use sly words in order to trick people.
You have to realize there are two influences in the invisible world. One is the Lord God. One is satan who warred against God in the heavens and was thrown down to the earth. And, until satan is thrown into hell and the lake of fire, he roams the earth stealing, killing, and destroying.
John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I [Jesus] am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Revelation 12:7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
Revelation 12:8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
Revelation 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Revelation 12:12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
Since satan cannot get at God directly, he attacks the object of God’s creation and love, mankind.
Open rebuke is better than secret love.
Tough love…of all the times I have heard “credits” and “thanks” given, I’ve never heard anyone say something along the lines of that he “thanked” the person who gave him drugs, alcohol, or taught him to party. The credit is always given to someone who had some “tough” love and encouraged discipline and the seeking of a higher pathway.
Do not let the progressives again move the goal posts, this time against conservatives and certain denominations, by using progressive poison to spew out words causing division.
Do not let them convince you to use words that destroy society. Do not let them use you to destroy other conservatives or other Christian denominations.

Since publishing this, an article came out that articulated well the lies that have been told about the Ukraine. Since this is another story where lies were put out, where a narrative was put out by the lying media, and many people were encouraged to take up that narrative, the link is published here. It is recommended to scroll down and read the first hand accounts of Ukrainian soldiers.
