Who Told You That You Were Naked?

Dore Return of the Spies From the Land of Promise

The progressives say to the church, basically, “Sit down and shut up. We are the arbiters of truth. You are naked, you have nothing to contribute to the conversation of the moral and ethical norms and direction of society.”

Who told you that you were naked?

Genesis 3:9 And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?

10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.

11 And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?

12 And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.

13 And the Lord God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.

14 And the Lord God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:

15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;

18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;

19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

Ever since the garden, there has been a propensity in mankind to look at life through the lens of the knowledge of good and evil.

There were certain individuals and leaders and prophets who rose above that and could see through the lens of God. They have been called leaders or prophets such as Moses, Joshua, Joseph, King David, Daniel, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Elijah, Elisha and other prophets.   They kept urging the people to follow God’s vision, and not to fall prey to the circumstantial picture around them.

Recorded in the book of Exodus, God talked about the good land to which he was leading the children of Israel.

Exodus 3:8 And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.

When the children of Israel were ready to enter into the promised land, twelve spies were sent. Ten came back with a bad report. Two came back with a report that was basically, “yes, we can do this thing.”

Ten talked about the giants.

Numbers 13:17 And Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said unto them, Get you up this way southward, and go up into the mountain:

18 And see the land, what it is, and the people that dwelleth therein, whether they be strong or weak, few or many;

19 And what the land is that they dwell in, whether it be good or bad; and what cities they be that they dwell in, whether in tents, or in strong holds;

20 And what the land is, whether it be fat or lean, whether there be wood therein, or not. And be ye of good courage, and bring of the fruit of the land. Now the time was the time of the firstripe grapes.

21 So they went up, and searched the land from the wilderness of Zin unto Rehob, as men come to Hamath.

22 And they ascended by the south, and came unto Hebron; where Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the children of Anak, were. (Now Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.)

23 And they came unto the brook of Eshcol, and cut down from thence a branch with one cluster of grapes, and they bare it between two upon a staff; and they brought of the pomegranates, and of the figs.

24 The place was called the brook Eshcol, because of the cluster of grapes which the children of Israel cut down from thence.

25 And they returned from searching of the land after forty days.

26 And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and shewed them the fruit of the land.

27 And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it.

28 Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there.

29 The Amalekites dwell in the land of the south: and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan.

30 And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.

31 But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.

32 And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature.

33 And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.

The filter of the knowledge of good and evil, which came in at the Fall in the garden, affects how people view events, history, and themselves.  Progressives use psychological warfare to convince people that they are powerless.

Know, Consider, Pray – Tip

The book of Daniel is a fairly short book and can be read in one sitting. Daniel understood that judgment had come upon his nation because they had departed from the Lord. Portions of his prayer are below. You can read the full prayer in Daniel, chapter 9.

Daniel 9:5 We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments:

6 Neither have we hearkened unto thy servants the prophets, which spake in thy name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.

7 O Lord, righteousness belongeth unto thee, but unto us confusion of faces, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel, that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries whither thou hast driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against thee.

8 O Lord, to us belongeth confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against thee.

10 Neither have we obeyed the voice of the Lord our God, to walk in his laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets.

11 Yea, all Israel have transgressed thy law, even by departing, that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the curse is poured upon us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against him.

13 As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us: yet made we not our prayer before the Lord our God, that we might turn from our iniquities, and understand thy truth.

14 Therefore hath the Lord watched upon the evil, and brought it upon us: for the Lord our God is righteous in all his works which he doeth: for we obeyed not his voice.

15 And now, O Lord our God, that hast brought thy people forth out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and hast gotten thee renown, as at this day; we have sinned, we have done wickedly.

A primary difference between Daniel and our age is the lack of understanding that there is a God in heaven to be obeyed and that there are consequences for disobedience.

We don’t understand cause and effect any more.

The church does not focus too much on what is happening because it is waiting for Jesus to come.  Yet, Jesus said, occupy till I come, so we need to be aware and be light and salt in the world around us and not allow evil to overtake the nation.

Luke 16:8b  for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.

However, the United States, like Israel of old, has participated in overwhelming evil.

We must work to remove evil leaders and evil from our nation.  We have no right to complain about judgements falling on the United States.   If we don’t remove the Achans in the midst, then we reap what we sow by sins of omission.

The Biggest Story of the Year

If we, as a nation, do not have the moral courage or ability to deal with evil in high places, it will be a blessing if other nations, under international law, will step in and do what we have thus far, been unable to do. Other nations have suffered due to the actions of the United States, first and foremost most recently Ukraine, but many other nations as well. Under international law, now that they know “who dunnit”, hopefully they will go after the criminals in our own nation as it seems there is not the ability or moral courage within for us to do it ourselves.

It would be honorable if we could deal with evil in high places ourselves, but we may not be able to do that and it would be better to get the job done by anyone who has the moral courage.

And the trail needs to be followed back to the globalists as well, who seek to destroy the world if they cannot govern it.

Adoption as Children

Lucas Cranach the Elder, PDM-owner, via Wikimedia Commons

God wants to adopt people into his family. He has made a provision for adoption through Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 1:1 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, 4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and without defect before him in love, 5 having predestined us for adoption as children through Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his desire,

In the natural, on earth, if a child is adopted into a family, the family takes the child in and begins to care for the child.

An adopted child might have some severe initial needs:  food, water, clothing, cleanliness, shelter.

At a certain point, when emergency recovery measures are met, then things  can move to a different level.

A child can be educated and helped to become a functioning member of the family, the church and society.

In current society, some people are orphans and are not yet part of God’s family.

Not all, but some have no clue of the forces that are beating them up and seeking to “steal, kill, and destroy” them. They are tossed around.

The world works on two parallel train tracks. One is the natural world. One is the invisible world.  There are good and bad forces at work behind the scenes.

Jesus put it this way.

John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

And so the world we live in is like a train track. There are two rails. One is physical. One is spiritual or invisible. And they run parallel to each other.

Here is an example.  When Daniel was praying for 21 days, an angel was sent to talk to Daniel in response.

Daniel 10:12 Then he said to me, “Don’t be afraid, Daniel; for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard. I have come for your words’ sake. 13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; but, behold, Michael [the Archangel], one of the chief princes, came to help me because I remained there with the kings of Persia.

An explanation was given that included both the natural world and spiritual world.

God does not want us to be orphans.

God wants us to be born into his family and adopted into his family.

Then, we can be taught of the Lord.
