Why You Need to Cancel Disney for the Sake of the Children

The image at the bottom of this post is what Disney is giving to young children.

Warning:  graphic, satanic, evil

If you have already cancelled Disney, you probably don’t need to subject yourself to it.  However, if you are still ignorant about Disney’s current mission, or somehow think that Disney is about a number of benign fairy tales, then you may want to view it; and then cancel your subscription.

The title might be enough to give you a clue.

Christmas Gift Ideas – Tip

Instead of buying something, offer to do something for someone that they either can’t do themselves or don’t have time to get around to doing.

This is a wide open field of ideas.

Give a ‘coupon’ of what you will do as a gift inside of a Christmas card…a homemade Christmas card can be created if it is a child giving the gift.

Some age-specific or geographically-specific ideas are:

  • mowing the lawn
  • shoveling snow
  • cleaning a flower bed
  • preparing a flower or vegetable bed for planting in the spring
  • cleaning out and organizing a shed, closet, garage, work space
  • cleaning out and wiping down shelves, cabinets
  • reading with a child on a regular basis
  • teaching a skill, such as breadmaking, to someone
  • teaching grandparents a computer skill or phone skill they need to know
  • polishing a grandfather’s boots or shoes
  • catching up someone’s sewing repairs…sewing on buttons, hemming clothing, ironing
  • committing to taking out trash on a regular basis
  • give someone a ride to church

There are all sorts of one-time or year-round or monthly gift ideas, tailored to what you know would be useful in any given situation.

Sometimes, buying something is the easy way out of gift giving.

A  gift of time and service might be more useful and more appreciated.

Hair Safety Tip*

The Phillip Medhurst Picture Torah 316. The plague of lice. Exodus cap 8 vv 14-17. Mortier

Philip De Vere, CC BY-SA 3.0, via Wikimedia Commons

Only teachers, moms, and other caretakers may be aware of the nuisance and problem this can be.

What problem is that?

Lice.

Lice, like mice, and mosquitoes, are unwanted, and if they begin to invade, you have to figure out how to get rid of them.

They are not a new problem.

They were one of the plagues of Egypt.

Exodus 8:16 And the Lord said unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Stretch out thy rod, and smite the dust of the land, that it may become lice throughout all the land of Egypt.

17 And they did so; for Aaron stretched out his hand with his rod, and smote the dust of the earth, and it became lice in man, and in beast; all the dust of the land became lice throughout all the land of Egypt.

Here is an article on how a lice comb was found in Canaan.

Nowadays there are various systems to get rid of lice.  It is necessary to contend with the hair, combs, brushes, bedding…any place where the lice might be.  Those who have had to deal with this problem understand how much work goes into getting rid of lice.

Here’s a tip.

This is a bit of an old-fashioned tip.  I notice it is not one that is mentioned very often in current Google searches.

Why it is not mentioned more often, I don’t know.  Perhaps it is because it is a lot cheaper than using other products?

Use spray hair spray on the hair.

Whether it will solve the problem completely, I don’t know.  But it has been known to be helpful.

As always, follow instructions and use the safety precautions mentioned on various products, including hair spray.

Kitchen Child Safety Tips*

With Thanksgiving approaching, there will be more cooking and more children in the kitchen.

Here are some safety tips.

Tips 1-7.

Turn pot handles to the middle of the stove; don’t let pot handles hang over the stove edge.  A child in the kitchen may reach up and grab the handle and pull the hot gravy or whatever upon itself.

Or, an adult may walk past the handle, knock the handle, flip the pot from the stove and it falls on a child.  Whenever you hear of someone getting burned by a pot falling upon them, there is a large probability that this rule was broken in some way.

Tip 8

With more dishes being washed, and temporary drying situations being set up, maybe on dish towels or other “holiday make-shift” drying situations, make sure that there are no edges of the dish towels  hanging over the counter that a child can pull down on itself.

Tip 9

When you are not using a sharp knife, or any sharp cooking utensil, put it in the sink.  If a knife is on the counter, it can be pushed off by accident, fall off by accident, and hurt someone by accident.  If it is on a drying towel, and the towel is pulled off the counter, the knife can fall on someone and hurt that person.  Wash, dry, and put knives away.   The best place for knives and other sharp kitchen utensils, when not in use, is either put away or in a sink.

Tip 10

This could be Tip 1.  Consider getting a child | pet restraining gate and to keep the babies and toddlers out of the kitchen in the first place.  That is the ultimate safety.  This prevents any precludes any possibility of the above happening.  It also means there is no chance of tripping over a toddler or crawling baby while carrying a hot pot if the baby or toddler is not in the kitchen in the first place.

Tip 11

It is likely that there will be children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and various people who are not normally in your kitchen.  Discuss safety rules and expectations ahead of any cooking project.  That includes safety tips such as those above and others you may have for your individual kitchen.  That includes washing hands before working with food.  That should not need to be mentioned, but, in reality, it is a good idea to cover that as well.

Tip 12

We are back to Tips 1-7.  Sloppiness, carelessness, and not being diligent about the little things can be the cause of accidents.  Generally, accidents don’t “just happen”.  They are the result of either bad habits or practices, where we fail to do something we should do or do something we should not do.

Proverbs 22:3 (WEB) A prudent man sees danger, and hides himself; but the simple pass on, and suffer for it.

Christmas Gifts – Tip

Here are some thoughts about gifts.

  • Get a book or video that will help someone learn about Jesus or grow in his/her Christian faith.
  • If you have the opportunity to buy the same item from two different vendors, support the Christian or conservative business rather that the global oligarchical system.  Use your purchasing power in line with your values.

Some ideas for either those who have everything or ideas that will benefit whole families year round, are subscriptions, or individual shows.  You can contact the companies themselves with any questions on that.

Sight & Sound Theatres®

These are extremely high quality Biblical or Christian-themed productions.   You can get a year-long virtual subscription to view them.

PureFlix

Currently, at the time of this writing, The Chosen is showing on PureFlix.  It took me over a year to follow someone’s suggestion to watch the series, but I have to agree with the person who recommended it, it is very good.  It would be a good show to have playing in the background during the Christmas season, when maybe you have some visitors who don’t know the Lord.

On Pureflix, there are videos and resources for all ages, including some documentaries that are good for homeschoolers.  It definitely would be worth the money to give a subscription as a gift.  The bonus is, you would cover all age groups in a family at the same time.

Superbook

These are high quality Christian-themed, Biblically-themed cartoons created by CBN.  Many are in foreign languages as well.  Again, this is a good thing to play when neighborhood children are over who may not know Jesus.  These short 1/2 hour shows draw the relationship between a past Biblical historical event and a modern challenge a child might face.  There are some available on YouTube that you can watch.  I believe there is a membership where you get the newest creations by subscription.

VeggieTales and Yippee

These are available through TBN.  I believe there are some videos for purchase, at least for VeggieTales.  TBN has a traditional children’s cartoon/children’s showtime on Saturday mornings.  You can learn more at the TBN site.  TBN is a worldwide Christian television station that has programming for all ages, as well as TBN related television stations in other parts of the world and in other languages.

Christmas Gift Tips

If you are looking for ideas for Christmas, here are some.

Go to Samaritan’s Purse and purchase a gift in someone else’s name.  If you go to their website, then to the Video Tab dropdown, there are various programs…Agriculture, Construction, Water & Hygiene and other programs…where you can donate to help someone else’s life.

Go to Samaritan’s Purse and donate to their Operation Christmas Child.   The reason I pick Samaritan’s Purse over other similar programs is because they also share the gospel.

Mike Lindell has done a tremendous amount of work exposing election fraud.  He also runs the https://lindellrecoverynetwork.org/

You can purchase his high quality products from him at https://mypillow.com

Alternatively, offer to serve in some way instead of buying a gift.  Give a gift of time and labor in some way.

Testosterone Tip

Tissot Jael Smote Sisera, and Slew Him

Here is an article on the topic of testosterone.

The Promising Evidence of Red and Near Infrared Light Therapy for Increasing Testosterone in Men

Was a lack of testosterone a factor in the historical account below?

Judges 4:1 (KJV) And the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the Lord, when Ehud was dead.

2 And the Lord sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, that reigned in Hazor; the captain of whose host was Sisera, which dwelt in Harosheth of the Gentiles.

3 And the children of Israel cried unto the Lord: for he had nine hundred chariots of iron; and twenty years he mightily oppressed the children of Israel.

4 And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time.

5 And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment.

6 And she sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedeshnaphtali, and said unto him, Hath not the Lord God of Israel commanded, saying, Go and draw toward mount Tabor, and take with thee ten thousand men of the children of Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun?

7 And I will draw unto thee to the river Kishon Sisera, the captain of Jabin’s army, with his chariots and his multitude; and I will deliver him into thine hand.

8 And Barak said unto her, If thou wilt go with me, then I will go: but if thou wilt not go with me, then I will not go.

9 And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for the Lord shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.

10 And Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali to Kedesh; and he went up with ten thousand men at his feet: and Deborah went up with him.

11 Now Heber the Kenite, which was of the children of Hobab the father in law of Moses, had severed himself from the Kenites, and pitched his tent unto the plain of Zaanaim, which is by Kedesh.

12 And they shewed Sisera that Barak the son of Abinoam was gone up to mount Tabor.

13 And Sisera gathered together all his chariots, even nine hundred chariots of iron, and all the people that were with him, from Harosheth of the Gentiles unto the river of Kishon.

14 And Deborah said unto Barak, Up; for this is the day in which the Lord hath delivered Sisera into thine hand: is not the Lord gone out before thee? So Barak went down from mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him.

15 And the Lord discomfited Sisera, and all his chariots, and all his host, with the edge of the sword before Barak; so that Sisera lighted down off his chariot, and fled away on his feet.

16 But Barak pursued after the chariots, and after the host, unto Harosheth of the Gentiles: and all the host of Sisera fell upon the edge of the sword; and there was not a man left.

17 Howbeit Sisera fled away on his feet to the tent of Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite: for there was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite.

18 And Jael went out to meet Sisera, and said unto him, Turn in, my lord, turn in to me; fear not. And when he had turned in unto her into the tent, she covered him with a mantle.

19 And he said unto her, Give me, I pray thee, a little water to drink; for I am thirsty. And she opened a bottle of milk, and gave him drink, and covered him.

20 Again he said unto her, Stand in the door of the tent, and it shall be, when any man doth come and enquire of thee, and say, Is there any man here? that thou shalt say, No.

21 Then Jael Heber’s wife took a nail of the tent, and took an hammer in her hand, and went softly unto him, and smote the nail into his temples, and fastened it into the ground: for he was fast asleep and weary. So he died.

22 And, behold, as Barak pursued Sisera, Jael came out to meet him, and said unto him, Come, and I will shew thee the man whom thou seekest. And when he came into her tent, behold, Sisera lay dead, and the nail was in his temples.

23 So God subdued on that day Jabin the king of Canaan before the children of Israel.

24 And the hand of the children of Israel prospered, and prevailed against Jabin the king of Canaan, until they had destroyed Jabin king of Canaan.

Cleaning Up Your Email Box – Tip

If you are overwhelmed by email, here is a tip. You can get control of your email box.

Because people use different email servers, I won’t go through the instructions for each one.

I found this one for gmail by going to Youtube and the search term was “setting up gmail filters”.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9Uhr7RhyiM

Filter incoming emails. Send all the emails from one company, church, person, or group to a label on the side column, by setting up a filter. To set up a filter, find someone who has made a video about the process for your particular email server. One instructional video for gmail is listed above.

YouTube is a great resource for finding out how to do things.

The other thing you can do is set yourself a discipline of a certain number of unnecessary groups or companies you can unsubscribe from – say 5 to 10 a day, until you have gotten rid of all the unnecessary emails.

If you will implement these two tasks, you can take charge of your email.
