not woke enough
What Troubles a Culture?
Wokeness would say that because a nation is not “woke” enough, that that is the cause of its problems.
The Bible states over and over that national problems come from leaving the commandments of the Lord. Problems come from worshipping Molech, Baal, mammon, satan, and the modern alternatives of these names.
Elijah, one of the Old Testament prophets of God explained this to King Ahab.
I Kings 18:17 (KJV) And it came to pass, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said unto him, Art thou he that troubleth Israel?
18 And he answered, I have not troubled Israel; but thou, and thy father’s house, in that ye have forsaken the commandments of the Lord, and thou hast followed Baalim.
The question always comes down to…which god is to be followed or who is God?
The Bible does not dispute that there are other entities the world considers “gods”. In heaven there was an attempted coup for the throne of God; these fallen beings were cast to the earth and became known as “gods” and “idols”; they are known as satan, devils, and demons.
Revelation 12:7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
I Corinthians 8:4 As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one.
5 For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)
6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
They lead to hell and death.
Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
Eve and Adam listened to the lie of the serpent, they ate of the tree God told them not to eat, they experienced the curse, they were driven from Eden, they believed the lie of satan and lost their pristine existence. You can read about it in Genesis Chapter 3.
There is an ongoing warfare against these entities. While they exist in the spiritual realm, when they have gained access into the natural realm through those who are subject to them, they manifest as forms of theft, death, and destruction.
Ephesians 6:1 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Daniel 10:12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.
13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.
Since the bottom line question is “who is God?” and “which God knows the right way for mankind to live?”, how do we know the true from the false?
Jesus Christ is the only one who not only claimed to be the son of God, but also stated that “I and my Father are one”. He fulfilled the many prophecies of his coming, death, and resurrection.
No other individual who claimed to be a messiah fulfilled prophecies, was killed, and then rose from the dead.
Jesus alone in all of history accomplished this.
To ignore the evidence of the resurrection is to ignore the elephant in the room, the deciding question of all history. To talk about differences in religion without discussing the resurrection is to miss the whole point.
The resurrection is the calling card of Christianity that exists in no other religion.
Other religions might have some altruistic ideas, but they have no leader who rose from the dead.
And while there are slight variations due to denominations, the basic creed of Christianity is this.
Part of the creed is this:
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the father.
He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.
This does not exist in other religions.
