Matthew 7:24 “Everyone therefore who hears these words of mine and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on a rock. 25 The rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it didn’t fall, for it was founded on the rock. 26 Everyone who hears these words of mine and doesn’t do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 The rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell—and its fall was great.”
The slide of society has been so gradual for decades that it becomes foggy on how we got to where we are today.
Basically, what we see around us a a decoupling of western society from what is called its Judeo/Christian roots, which did form a foundation under society for centuries.
There used to be an understanding that the norms of society were built on principles found in the Old Testament and New Testament.
The value put on human life, on private property, on morality, ultimately were drawn from the Ten Commandments and teachings of Jesus. The founding Fathers, understanding the sinful nature of mankind and original sin, designed government with a separation of powers to prevent power being aggregated within the corruption of one person or small conclave of persons.
Those safeguards and attempts to create a society with checks and balances, with morality based on the Bible, has been eaten away at for decades.
Instead of preservation of life we have murder; instead of preservation of property, we have theft; instead of marriage between a man and woman, we have transgenderism.
All this and more has come about due to the decline of the teaching of the Bible and Biblical principles, such as the Ten Commandments; the secularization of society; the intimidation of the church by atheists, modernists, and secularists; and the rise of a satantic globalist agenda to take over the world and recreate a world without God.
The church has been, overall, intimidated to a position of sitting on the sidelines and watching. It has been bullied to not take its warrior position in society. Songs like “Onward Christian Soldiers” are no longer sung. The power of the blood of Jesus is not talked about because the church doesn’t want the left to be critical of language “blood”, but the Blood of Jesus is a weapon against satan. It must be talked about, sung about, and used in prayer. The church has been crimped in its use of language because of the effectiveness of the technique of the left to criticize language or topics the left doesn’t like, while at the same time forcing its language and agenda, and changing vocabulary, down society’s throat.
It has gotten so bad, the suffering has become so great, that people are beginning to rise up off the sidelines.
Society has to be structured on the laws based on Biblical principles. If someone breaks into a store and steals, the the principles of law, of “thou shalt not”, have to go into effect. Otherwise, you have the situation that now exists in some cities where clerks watch helplessly and corporations shut down stores that are no longer profitable due to the level of theft. It is no way to run a city, or a nation.
There has been a mantra, perhaps not spoken, but underlying…if you love me, you won’t criticize me, no matter how much damage I do. That is not scriptural.
But again, the church has been bullied into a corner where all it can talk about is love and grace, while going light on topics like discipline and responsibility. This position, this posture that the church has been cornered into, is not helping society.
Faith without works is dead.
