In today’s technological world, we are used to the word “update”. It means that there has been an upgrade to something…the computer, the phone, the software, and to stay current, you need to hit the “update” button and let the update “do its thing” to keep you current.
Updates don’t change the underlying program. It just brings the underlying program up to the most current version.
Likewise, as we read the Bible, it is necessary to let the Holy Spirit update the terminology of yesteryear into what is current today.
The Bible may have been written years ago, but the underlying principles and truths are the same.
There can be a tendency to say…that becomes something is old…it no longer matters. Nothing is farther from the truth.
Remember years ago there was a book titled, “All I Learned I Learned in Kindergarten”? The point is, some principles never go out of style no matter how long ago they were taught or learned.
Principles of gardening and farming are basically the same now as they were hundreds of years ago. Machinery might be more modern. Fencing might be upgraded. But the principles are the same. And when you get down to it, often there is a return to the most basic principles that are older, rather than modernized, because the smaller, more organic, richer soil version of farming is better than the strip farming of today using multiple pesticides and GMOs. But the basic points of preparing the soil, planting seeds properly, in the correct season, as well as principles of correct light, water, and weeding, all work today as they did hundreds of years ago.
So when the reading the Bible, instead of skipping over the things that seem to be outdated, ask the Holy Spirit how they apply today. For example, here are some verses.
Acts 15:20 But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.
Exodus 34:15 Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go a whoring after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their gods, and one call thee, and thou eat of his sacrifice;
Exodus 22:20 He that sacrificeth unto any god, save unto the LORD only, he shall be utterly destroyed.
Leviticus 17:7 And they shall no more offer their sacrifices unto devils, after whom they have gone a whoring. This shall be a statute for ever unto them throughout their generations.
At first glance, the reaction might be, like what’s this? How does this apply today? Idols? Sacrifices unto devils? And what’s fornication? We don’t hear that word any more.
I like to use the King James Version as it can be referenced through Strong’s Concordance that will give you the Greek and Hebrew meanings of words. A good dictionary, an older one that is not “woke”, helps as well. It helps you understand the older version of the Bible. The newer versions are good for a quicker comprehension, but you can miss some things relying only on them that you might grasp if you do a little digging in an older version. There is some “pay dirt” when you do some deeper studies.
Back to…how does this apply today? It is imperative to spend time every day in the Bible, seeking the Lord, as to how it applies today. The Holy Spirit can use the same verse multiple ways for correction and direction.
One way that sacrifices are being offered to idols is through the COVID vax shot, the jab that kills or maims adults and children, and may cause miscarriages and infertility. For many more details on all these things, visit this site: http://shineonhealth.com
How is this connected to idols? or to sacrificing to a god other than the Lord?
The history of this world is as it is detailed in Genesis. God created the world and man, Adam. He gave dominion of the world to Adam. Satan, who prior to this had been a high ranking being in heaven and who was thrown out for trying to take the throne of God, then came to the earth and warred against God’s man, Adam. Basically, if satan couldn’t destroy God, he would try to destroy what God created.
Jesus said, in reference to satan, that the thief comes not but for to steal, kill, and destroy.
So what started in the garden has continued until this day and will continue until the final Second Coming of Christ. But meanwhile, we have to contend with an invisible enemy who is always seeking to steal, kill, and destroy and who is behind the negative things of this world and works through people, who instead of serving the Lord Jesus Christ, serve satan. They may not realize that that is what is happening because the Bible says:
II Corinthians 4:4 (KJV) In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
In any case, the Bible says that my people are destroyed by lack of knowledge. Therefore, it behooves us to educate ourselves and seek the Lord for guidance.
The bottom line is in order to not be destroyed by lack of knowledge and in order for your children to not be destroyed for lack of knowledge, you need to really understand what you are up against. Financial interests control the mainstream media; even now, not everyone really understands what is happening.
