Consequences
The universe is run by laws. God’s laws. Without studying them, we are ignorant of them.
So often God is blamed for the consequences of sins of commission or omission on man’s part, or on a nation’s part.
Matthew 21:44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s poetic rendering is this.
“Though the mills of God grind slowly, yet they grind exceeding small; Though with patience He stands waiting, with exactness grinds He all.” Source
If there are problems it is more profitable to see where there has been a transgression of law, either by commission or omission, rather than blame God.
I heard a story about the death of a relatively young person. My thought was…did he take the jab?
When something bad happens, there are those who say it was God’s will. Was it really God’s will or was it the consequences of ignorance and disobedience to God’s Word?
Hosea 4:6 6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
Was something done that should not have been done? Or was something left undone that needed to be done?
If a born again believer spends time with God the first thing of each day, a believer can receive instruction and warning to help navigate the day.
Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
