We have just come through the season of the Ephiphany, which is the revealing of Jesus to the Gentiles. This is symbolized by the visit of the Magi to the Christ Child. It traditionally is celebrated on January 6.
Before the Magi appear on the scene, the Christ child has been born.
Before the Magi appear on the scene, the revelation of the Christ child comes to the shepherds, and they visit the Christ Child.
The shepherds were keeping watch over their flocks by night when the angel of the Lord appeared to them and told them of the Christ child, the Babe that had been born. The Shepherds go to visit the Child.
Where was Jesus born? Bethlehem.
It was a busy time in Bethlehem. People were there, there to be named and numbered for tax purposes; people were jostling for rooms.
There was no room in the inn for Joseph and Mary. They came to a cave, a stable. And there Christ was born.
Things were busy, people were looking out for their own interests.
It’s a bit not too unlike the political prisoners locked away in solitary confinement. Not too many know they are there, since the media and politicians don’t talk about it.
So how did people find out the birth of the Christ Child?
Well, the shepherds knew as the angel told them.
Another group knew. The Magi, or Wise Men, as they are sometimes called, they knew.
They knew from the star in the East that indicated something had happened, but they didn’t know exactly where to look for the Child. They came to Herod the King and asked him what he knew. Herod asked the Jewish scholars who brought forth the scriptures about Bethlehem, that the Babe would be born there.
Herod said to the Magi, as they left to find the Christ King, the Child, the newly born Babe, when you find him, bring me word again that I may come and worship him.
The Wise Men found him, but being warned of God of Herod’s deceitfulness, the Wise Men left a different way home.
How do we know Herod was deceitful? Herod afterward ordered the slaughter of the Innocents, the killing of all babies and toddlers two years old and younger, in the hopes of eliminating Jesus.
Who else knew that there was something of significance happening?
Joseph, the foster father of Jesus.
Mary conceived Jesus, as a Virgin, as a fulfillment of prophecy. Joseph was appointed by God as the foster father, to care for and protect Mary and Jesus, and to provide for them. An angel appeared to Joseph in a dream and told him to take the Mother and Child to Egypt for protection. Joseph obeyed immediately. In this way, Jesus was protected from the slaughter of the Innocents two years old and under that had been decreed by Herod.
Herod was afraid of losing his throne.
There are parallels with the above story with the plight of the January 6 prisoners.
A few people, like the shepherds, know of the plight of the prisoners.
More may be learning, like the Magi, but may not have all of the facts. And they do not understand all of the implications. They are learning.
Herod understood the implications of the baby Jesus, that Jesus was a threat to Herod’s power.
The powers that be in DC understand the implications of the significance of the January 6 prisoners.
At the time of Jesus, while the shepherds knew, while the Magi knew what was happening, the masses of people in Bethlehem were simply there in the hustle and bustle of the events of the day and were ignorant of what was happening.
Again, the one who understood the importance of preserving Jesus’s life, was Joseph.
In the parallel with January 6, this is where things break down.
We are missing a Joseph.
The January 6 prisoners have no Joseph to stand in the gap for them.
In today’s world, in this parallel, “Joseph” must be more than one individual. For Mary and Jesus, Joseph was one individual.
For the January 6 prisoners, who are currently in a trial that is rigged against them, against their innocence, there should be a Joseph that is a combination of many…extensive nightly media exposure, legal professionals, politicians who speak out and take whatever legal action they can to free the prisoners, financial support for legal professionals and the prisoners.
Prayer is important but there are times, if you will read your Bible, there are times where God says to quit praying and start doing.
This January 6 event is the inverse of the coming of the Magi and the events that centered around the birth of Christ which culminated in Jesus’s life, death, and resurrection.
The prisoners are hidden in solitary confinement. There is a rigged trial against them.
If the dark forces succeed in carrying this out, what will prevent them from coming after anyone else they don’t like?
So why is nothing is done?
Going back to the parallel, Joseph valued Jesus and His Mother; Joseph wanted to obey God and protect the Christ child.
January 6 is connected to President Trump and the stolen election; there are people who don’t value President Trump, and who want to eliminate him.
There are many who do not want to draw attention to or remind people of the stolen election. The thieves, the occupiers in office, the instigators of the coup, of course, are one party.
But there are also traitors, and Judas, among various factions that are supposedly on the right side. They also do not want to revisit January 6 as they are jockeying for positions.
They don’t want to deal with the stolen election because they have some political hopes for the future. They don’t mind keeping Trump and the stolen election and all events connected to the stolen election, including the January 6 prisoners, incognito.
If they leave the January 6 prisoner issue alone, then that also helps keep the can of worms called the stolen election alone.
There is a lot of money and power connected to January 6, and its stolen outcome.
We know how DC works…bribery, blackmail, threats, monetary gain, power… and there are those who will go along to get along for whatever reason.
But this can happen when you join forces with the wrong side for temporary gain, if you miscalculate your timing.
Matthew 24:42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.
44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?
46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
47 Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;
49 And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;
50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,
51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
