Eyes in the wilderness

Offer van een rode koe door de Israëlieten Plechtigheit van het verbranden der rode veerse buyten het leeger Israels (titel op object), RP-P-1921-377

Moses’s father-in-law became a guide to Moses and the people in the wilderness.

Numbers 10:29 And Moses said unto Hobab, the son of Raguel the Midianite, Moses’ father in law, We are journeying unto the place of which the Lord said, I will give it you: come thou with us, and we will do thee good: for the Lord hath spoken good concerning Israel.

30 And he said unto him, I will not go; but I will depart to mine own land, and to my kindred.

31 And he said, Leave us not, I pray thee; forasmuch as thou knowest how we are to encamp in the wilderness, and thou mayest be to us instead of eyes.

32 And it shall be, if thou go with us, yea, it shall be, that what goodness the Lord shall do unto us, the same will we do unto thee.

Genesis 1 and Creation

Brooklyn Museum - The Pilgrims of Emmaus on the Road (Les pèlerins d'Emmaüs en chemin) - James Tissot

There is a tendency in churches to focus on the New Testament only instead of the whole counsel of God.  Paul said:

Acts 20:27 (KJV) For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.

When Jesus arose from the dead, one of his appearances was to two disciples.

Luke 24:13 And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs.

14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened.

15 And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.

16 But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.

17 And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad?

18 And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days?

19 And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:

20 And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him.

21 But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done.

22 Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulchre;

23 And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive.

24 And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not.

25 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:

26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?

27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

28 And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further.

29 But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them.

30 And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.

31 And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.

32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?

When the day of Pentecost arrived, and when afterwards the first sermon was preached, Peter dipped back to the Old Testament and brought out its relevance to the then-present time.

Acts 2:14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:

15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.

16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;

17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:

20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of the Lord come:

21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:

23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

24 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.

25 For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved:

26 Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:

27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

28 Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.

29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.

30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;

31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.

33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

35 Until I make thy foes thy footstool.

36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

By going back to Genesis 1 and the original purposes of God, it solves a lot of societal questions.  Are there more than two sexes?  No, God made them male and female.  Should there be abortion?  No, God said to be fruitful and multiply.

Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply….

The problems of today can be traced back to lack of knowledge of Genesis, Creation, and the original purposes of God.

Creation means there is a Creator who calls the shots.  Evolution means the biggest bully in the jungle can become the dictator.  Dictators and atheists like evolution even though Darwin knew there was a problem with it.  It’s been so long since anyone really challenged evolution in the public square that it has silently been grandfathered in and used at the foundation for many other policies even though evolution is impossible scientifically.

Just for a simple example, how can there be a leap from a two-chamber heart to a four-chamber heart, with all of the other requirements in one evolutionary leap.  It’s impossible.  Plus you would need a male and female to have the exact same change in the exact same generation, find each other, mate, and continue to produce offspring.

And how about the fact that evolutionists today are destroying sexuality which means an end to the human race?  How’s the theory of evolution working out in practice today?  It is destroying humankind.

The leftists bully the church to shut up and then they, the left, have the only megaphone.

Well, here is the megaphone to the left.  God made them male and female.  If transgenderism is bad for children, it is also bad for adults.  It confuses growing children to say that transgenderism is bad for children but okay for adults.  A child growing into adulthood listening to an adult saying that transgenderism is okay for adults will get confused.   It will confuse a fifteen year old.  And that also opens a door within their minds as to whether maybe that is something that they should do when they leave home.  Transgenderism is bad at any age.

Basically, sin is sin at any age.

When did leaving the purposes of God as laid out in Genesis 1 become acceptable at a certain age?

The world, the flesh, and the devil put in legal limits, but the Bible does not.

Fallen man, without the intervention of God, is subject to the fall and the influence of satan, who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy.  That destructive influence has been working on mankind since the garden of Eden and has brought the human race to point where it is now destroying itself in many ways, including destroying its sexuality and reproductive capabilities.

The only way of escape is through Jesus Christ.

John 10:6 This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.

7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.

8 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.

9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.

13 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.

14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.

16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

Isaiah Chapter 1

Isaiah 1:1  (KJV*) The vision of Isaiah the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.

2 Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the Lord hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.

3 The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master’s crib: but Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider.

4 Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the Lord, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward.

5 Why should ye be stricken any more? ye will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.

6 From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment.

7 Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire: your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.

8 And the daughter of Zion is left as a cottage in a vineyard, as a lodge in a garden of cucumbers, as a besieged city.

9 Except the Lord of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.

10 Hear the word of the Lord, ye rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah.

11 To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the Lord: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.

12 When ye come to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to tread my courts?

13 Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting.

14 Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them.

15 And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.

16 Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;

17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.

18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:

20 But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.

21 How is the faithful city become an harlot! it was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers.

22 Thy silver is become dross, thy wine mixed with water:

23 Thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them.

24 Therefore saith the Lord, the Lord of hosts, the mighty One of Israel, Ah, I will ease me of mine adversaries, and avenge me of mine enemies:

25 And I will turn my hand upon thee, and purely purge away thy dross, and take away all thy tin:

26 And I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellors as at the beginning: afterward thou shalt be called, The city of righteousness, the faithful city.

27 Zion shall be redeemed with judgment, and her converts with righteousness.

28 And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the Lord shall be consumed.

29 For they shall be ashamed of the oaks which ye have desired, and ye shall be confounded for the gardens that ye have chosen.

30 For ye shall be as an oak whose leaf fadeth, and as a garden that hath no water.

31 And the strong shall be as tow, and the maker of it as a spark, and they shall both burn together, and none shall quench them.

*Why the King James Version (KJV)?  It reads better as a public domain version.  It uses the word “Lord” for God.  It can be synced to a Strong’s Concordance, where you can look up words in the original Greek and Hebrew to understand more.  Some translations are more folksy in their translation, trying to use everyday speech.  However, those translations do not have a Strong’s Concordance connection.   Or, they are not public domain.

Breaking Through the Shell

Dr. Robert Schuller, Sr., used to say, “If it’s to be, it’s up to me.”

Around the world, people are tired of waiting for their leaders to solve problems.  Many leaders offer lies, reneging on promises, and corruption.

The expression, “banging your head against a wall” would fall into the same category as comments about red tape.  It simply means that nothing gets done.

A chick, when coming out of a shell, keeps pecking away at the shell and finally breaks through.

Collectively, humanity has been banging its head against the wall of ineptness and corruption of its leaders so long that things are beginning to break through.

Shifts are happening.  Basically, if the leaders won’t get it done, or don’t want to solve problems, or actually create problems because they want to remain in power, humanity has been beating against that so long that it is breaking through.  Rather than waiting for someone else to solve problems, individuals are rising up and are individually  and together doing what they can.  They are not waiting.

What’s your talent?

Six Days Shalt Thou Labor

The four day work week and retiring early is in the vogue.  But is that really the best pathway for life?

God commands … not suggests … to work six days.   You might say it is a like Father, like son thing.

Exodus 20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

Exodus 20:11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

If you have figured out how to make a living in such a way that you can retire early from working for your own needs, good for you.  Maybe the Lord has need of your talents.

Moses effectively had three careers.

  1. He started out as prince of Egypt, on the way to the throne.  He realized that he was called to help the Hebrews.
  2. That led to a banishment where he was a shepherd for forty years.
  3. God called him at the burning bush at the age of eighty.  He went back to Pharoah, was instrumental in helping liberate the children of Israel, crossed the Red Sea, received the Ten Commandments, and brought the children of Israel to the brink of the promised land.  His third career spanned forty years.

At the age of 120 this was his testimony.

Deuteronomy 34:7   And Moses was an hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated.

In a culture that is obsessed with youth, in some cases, using some diabolical means to obtain that, consider the example of Moses.   His life spanned three careers and he was going strong at 120.

On the other hand, scripture gives us an example of a man who quit working as was obsessed with “me, myself, and I.”

Luke 12:16 And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:

17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?

18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.

19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.

20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?

21 So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

He retired early and his life ended early.  God called back the talent since he would not use it for the purposes of God.

Some of you who have lived long enough have probably seen at least one example of this.  I know I have.  Someone retires early and a few years later that person is dead.

I get it.  You work hard for many years and want a little break.  But perpetual days with nothing to do is not good.

Six days shalt thou labor.  Surely, your talents can be used somewhere.

Quit You Like Men

Driving Out the Traders by F. Hofmann c. 1890

I Corinthians 16:13 (KJV) Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.

I Corinthians 16:13 (YLT) Watch ye, stand in the faith; be men, be strong;

“….I firmly believe that any man’s finest hours – his greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear – is that moment when he has worked his heart out in good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle – victorious.”  Vince Lombardi

“I’ve never known a man worth his salt who, in the long run, deep down in his heart, didn’t appreciate the grind, the discipline.”  Vince Lombardi Source

This is a comment from observation.  There are those who are not necessarily religious who “get it,” who understand the need for cultural battle more than the church.

Luke 16:8 And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.

There are those who are not necessarily religious, but who understand the extreme danger of the satanic globalists.  Indeed, they will even discuss the dangers of satan more strongly than the church.  They stand against transgenderism and many of the ills of today’s society more strongly than the church.

Elon Musk, in being willing to permit Matt Walsh’s “What is a woman” to be shown on Twitter, has probably done more to break the spell of transgenderism than many sermons that have been preached in churches.

There are other individuals out there, it is not necessary to mention names because there is more than one, but they talk about the takedown of manhood.  Testosterone has decreased in men because of diet.  Men have been feminized and marginalized.

It is good that these individuals, whether they are religious or not, are taking a stand against the satanic globalists.

But for those in the church who say, so what, why are you saying this, I will explain.  This will be a little raw, but it’s got to be said for those who haven’t thought this through.

Your young men are looking for models of manhood to emulate.  God didn’t create emasculated men, feminized men, neutered men.  Satan and modernists did.

Throughout history, until recently, men could be counted on to defend the family and society.  Is that the model that we see today?

Again, there are those who are not necessarily Christian who are saying … don’t abort, take care of your family, your loved ones.  They have some things right.  However, they may not necessarily believe in biblical marriage.  Therefore, they become examples of fornication, even though they may have other things right.

If you want your sons to see a godly, strong manly example, you have to do at least as much as those who are not going to church but who are fighting the cultural battles.  If not,  your sons may look to some of these individuals as cultural warriors.  These individuals are willing to go to battle against an ungodly culture, more than some church members.  These individuals are willing to correct their testosterone levels, more than some church members.  While they may have some things right, even more than the church in some ways,  some of them are into fornication, since they don’t have a biblical structure.  Are those the manly examples you want for your sons?

Your sons may go to those who have more testosterone and cultural fight in them, and those people may not necessarily have the fulness of the faith.  Your sons need to see manhood in action.

I won’t belabor the point, as I have spoken of it before, but I believe the root cause of whether someone resists cultural rot or not is a person’s eschatalogical belief which will incite him to either action or inaction.
