What is Our Responsibility?

Follow Me

This post is a bit of a continuation of a former post Do It Now – Keep It Real on which this statement was made.  There is a need to expand on this statement with greater explanation.

In my opinion, there is too much saying “the Lord will do it”, without understanding the part about our responsibilities.    Yes, the Lord will do it, but we are the body of Christ and we have our own part to play.

If any man had numerous experiences with the Lord that he wrote about, that man would be the Apostle Paul.

If any man understood the message of Jesus Christ, it man would be the Apostle Paul, as he penned a large part of the New Testament.

But even the Apostle Paul said this:

Philippians 3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.

12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

The Apostle Paul did not exhibit a complacent, one Sunday meeting a week, type of Christianity.

He also prayed this prayer (it is a prayer you can pray for yourself or someone else).  I picked a different version than I normally use, (and it is good to compare various versions to get a better idea) because it brings out the thought better.

Ephesians 1:15  (RSVC) 15 For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints, 16 I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, 18 having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power in us who believe, according to the working of his great might 20 which he accomplished in Christ when he raised him from the dead and made him sit at his right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come; 22 and he has put all things under his feet and has made him the head over all things for the church, 23 which is his body, the fulness of him who fills all in all.

Verse 19 states and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power in us who believe, according to the working of his great might .

It is God’s power that works in us, inspires us, directs us, shows us the way.

Jesus said, “Follow me.”

In the Old Testament, the priests and prophets were especially anointed by God to hear from God and speak God’s Word.

In the New Testament, since the work of Jesus on the cross, since the redemptive work of Christ on the cross, the potential for the Holy Spirit to indwell those who are willing and choose to believe in Jesus Christ exists.  Then the Holy Spirit can lead on the inside.  Jesus said, “Follow me,” and the Holy Spirit, God the Father and God the Son are all part of the same triune God.  If you follow the leading of the Holy Spirit you are following Jesus; and Paul prayed to know the immeasurable greatness of his power in us who believe.

So when you pray a prayer to the Father in the name of Jesus, do not be surprised if the Holy Spirit within your heart begins to direct you a certain way.  This can be part of the answer to your prayer.

God does not answer by dropping down a package from heaven neatly tied with a bow.  Occasionally, something like that happens.  It is far more likely that the Lord will lead and guide and direct and require acts of obedience on the way out of a mess.

Also, and I mention this topic a lot, only because I operate in it and have a fair amount of experience.

When you give tithes and offerings there are certain ways the Lord can bless you back.  One of them is to find things on sales at stores.  One way is to be led to a store when a sale is going on that you didn’t even know about.  But one way is that God will inspire you to do things you had not previously been doing.   You may get an inspired idea where previously you had none.

My experience has been that nothing on the outside actually changes, i.e., in that I mean you may live in the same neighborhood, know the same people, go to the same stores, etc.  But all of a sudden when you give a tithe and/or offering there is a quality that enters your life.  All of a sudden someone who thought of you before regarding a job or position actually picks up the phone and calls you, or you meet them in a store.  Or any number of other things can happen.  A quality, call it the blessing of God, enters your life and enables something to go beyond the mere physical circumstances of your life.  To put it this way, the water of your life is turned into wine.

John 2:1  The third day, there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there. 2 Jesus also was invited, with his disciples, to the wedding. 3 When the wine ran out, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no wine.”

4 Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does that have to do with you and me? My hour has not yet come.”

5 His mother said to the servants, “Whatever he says to you, do it.” 6 Now there were six water pots of stone set there after the Jews’ way of purifying, containing two or three metretes apiece. 7 Jesus said to them, “Fill the water pots with water.” So they filled them up to the brim. 8 He said to them, “Now draw some out, and take it to the ruler of the feast.” So they took it. 9 When the ruler of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and didn’t know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the ruler of the feast called the bridegroom 10 and said to him, “Everyone serves the good wine first, and when the guests have drunk freely, then that which is worse. You have kept the good wine until now!” 11 This beginning of his signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.

Other ways we can bring God into our lives is by asking, seeking, knocking.

Matthew 7:7  “Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you. 8 For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened.

Other ways we can influence our circumstances is by understanding the power of the name of Jesus, the power of the Blood of Jesus, the power of the Word of God, and faith.

Help Mom Year Round

Brooklyn Museum - Simon the Cyrenian Compelled to Carry the Cross with Jesus (Simon de Cyrène contraint de porter la Croix avec Jésus) - James Tissot

James Tissot, Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons

While Moms will probably be treated better today than usual, it is good to be helpful and treat them better all year long.

Every man that is ignorant of what his wife is concerned about is imitating Elkanah, who was the husband of Hannah.  He seemed to be oblivious of the fact that his other wife was bullying Hannah concerning Hannah’s inability to conceive a child.  He seemed to be oblivious of the fact that a child was important to Hannah.

There are lessons to be learned.

Problems in a household arise because people are oblivious of the things that need to be done.

Now moms/mothers are aware of all the many details that need to be done because they can’t get away from those details.  There’s laundry to do, dishes to wash, homework help for the kids, lunches to prepare, diapers to change, noses to wipe, floors to mop, windows to clean, bills to pay, kids to transport, events at the school and a myriad of other details.

Often, not saying always because there are some good shining examples where this does not happen, but often the kids and dad just walk past all those details or simply leave them to the mom, or add to them.

How many bags of trash have moms taken out that a child or dad could have taken out instead?
How much laundry have moms picked up off of bedroom or bathroom floors simply because no one bothered to put it in a laundry hamper or washing machine?
How many floors have moms swept that someone else could have swept?
How many pets have moms fed and watered and taken care of because no one else did?
How many little details were thoughtlessly left to the mom to do when someone else could have, and should have, done them instead.

Moms are detailed oriented.  They have to be.  Laundry has to be done on a regular basis or no one has clothes to wear.

Food has to be purchased regularly and prepared or no one will eat.

Dishes have to be washed on a regular basis or no one will have utensils to eat with.

Where are the dads and kids helping with the work?  Moms do not need to be carrying the weight of the household by themselves.

Let’s put it in scriptural terms.

Moms are not called to carry the crosses that others are either unwilling or too lazy to carry.

If you don’t help, there is a loss, because any time someone picks up work someone else should be doing, something unique that could have happened does not happen because things are not in divine order and gifts are being misused.

The Body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit

Airman fighting possible DISMISSAL for refusing to get the COVID clot shot

Quote:  Air Force Master Sergeant Robert Bierman first applied for an exemption to the military’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate on religious grounds in October 2021. He argued that taking the shot would violate his “sincerely held beliefs [regarding] the sanctity of human life and self-harm to the bodily temple of God.”

Bible Verse

I Corinthians 3:16   Don’t you know that you are a temple of God, and that God’s Spirit lives in you? 17 If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is holy, which you are.

Kicking the Can Down the Road

The art Bible, comprising the Old and new Testaments - with numerous illustrations (1896) (14596347188)

Gertrude C. Marks ?Internet Archive Book Images, No restrictions, via Wikimedia Commons

I’ve always had a bit of a problem with this verse.  Does anyone else see what I see in it?

Isaiah 39:8  (KJV) Then said Hezekiah to Isaiah, Good is the word of the Lord which thou hast spoken. He said moreover, For there shall be peace and truth in my days.

Well, maybe you don’t see the problem until I put it in context.

Let’s put it in context.  Isaiah had just received some visitors from Babylon.  He showed them all the temple treasures.  The visitors were probably thinking, thank you very much, we’ll be back to get those.

Here’s the story.  (WEB)

Isaiah 39:1   At that time, Merodach Baladan the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present to Hezekiah; for he heard that he had been sick, and had recovered. 2 Hezekiah was pleased with them, and showed them the house of his precious things, the silver, the gold, the spices, and the precious oil, and all the house of his armor, and all that was found in his treasures. There was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah didn’t show them. 3 Then Isaiah the prophet came to king Hezekiah, and asked him, “What did these men say? From where did they come to you?”

Hezekiah said, “They have come from a country far from me, even from Babylon.”

4 Then he asked, “What have they seen in your house?”

Hezekiah answered, “They have seen all that is in my house. There is nothing among my treasures that I have not shown them.”

5 Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, “Hear the word of Yahweh of Armies: 6 ‘Behold, the days are coming when all that is in your house, and that which your fathers have stored up until today, will be carried to Babylon. Nothing will be left,’ says Yahweh. 7 ‘They will take away your sons who will issue from you, whom you shall father, and they will be eunuchs in the king of Babylon’s palace.’”

8 Then Hezekiah said to Isaiah, “Yahweh’s word which you have spoken is good.” He said moreover, “For there will be peace and truth in my days.”

In that context, let’s reflect on this verse.

Isaiah 39:8  (KJV) Then said Hezekiah to Isaiah, Good is the word of the Lord which thou hast spoken. He said moreover, For there shall be peace and truth in my days.

Isaiah, the prophet, just told Hezekiah that the Lord said that as a result of Hezekiah showing all the treasures to the visitors from Babylon, that one day the Babylonians would take those treasures from Jerusalem, to Babylon, which did happen.  Also, Hezekiah’s sons would be enslaved and made eunuchs.

The book of Daniel was written by Daniel, who was taken into captivity at the time that Babylon conquered Jerusalem.  At that time, the people of the tribe of Judah, which also included those of the tribe of Benjamin, were taken to Babylon.  Only a remnant of the people were left in land and not removed to Babylon.

Daniel 1:1   In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it. 2 The Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with part of the vessels of the house of God; and he carried them into the land of Shinar to the house of his god. He brought the vessels into the treasure house of his god.

3 The king spoke to Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring in some of the children of Israel, even of the royal offspring and of the nobles; 4 youths in whom was no defect, but well-favored, and skillful in all wisdom, and endowed with knowledge, and understanding science, and who had the ability to stand in the king’s palace; and that he should teach them the learning and the language of the Chaldeans. 5 The king appointed for them a daily portion of the king’s dainties, and of the wine which he drank, and that they should be nourished three years; that at its end they should stand before the king.

Having established the history and story line, here is the verse again.

Isaiah 39:8  (KJV) Then said Hezekiah to Isaiah, Good is the word of the Lord which thou hast spoken. He said moreover, For there shall be peace and truth in my days.

If I were to put it into today’s street vernacular, it might go like this.

You know what?  Hey, that’s great, bro.  It ain’t happening in my day,   It ain’t happening to me.  So I’m okay.  So I ain’t gonna worry about it.  I’m gonna have peace.  Peace out.

In other words, Hezekiah really didn’t care about what was going to happen to Jerusalem or to his posterity…to his sons, to his grandsons and beyond.  There was going to be peace and truth in his day.  That was enough for Hezekiah.

Sorta selfish and self-centered, don’t you think?

In political terms, it is called “kicking the can down the road”.  People know they are creating problems that they are leaving to their children and grandchildren, but they don’t care.  They just hope they die soon enough that they don’t have to experience the consequences of what they created either through active engagement or through slothfulness and laziness and complacency.

Where this attitude exists, there needs to be a course correction.

John 15:13  Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

I Timothy 5:8  A man must care for his own people. At least he must care for his family. If he does not care for them, he shows that he does not believe in God. He is worse than one who has never believed.

Postnote

I have to add this as there is a definite attempt on the part of certain schools of thought to try to say that the book of Daniel was written after the fact.  However, Jesus referred to the book of Daniel, so it is trustworthy.

Mark 13:14 (KJV) But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:

Mark 13:14 But when you see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not (let the reader understand), then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains,

Mark 13:14 ‘And when ye may see the abomination of the desolation, that was spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (whoever is reading let him understand), then those in Judea, let them flee to the mountains;

There are those who might say, what is this about, why does it matter?  The reason it matters is because the book of Daniel has been very accurate historically, so there are people who want to say it was written “after the fact” rather than that a prophet of God heard the Lord.  Atheists want to diss (dismiss) prophecies.  If they accept them, the mathematical odds against atheism and the views of atheism are overwhelming.  So they have to pretend that facts don’t exist in order to push atheistic lies and agendas on society.  (This is why apologetics matter.  Apologetics deal in facts.)  Certain groups, including the CIA and warmongers, would like to tilt the prophecies a certain direction in order to take society a certain direction, and they try to convince certain segments of Christiandom to back them.  When you understand the game, you understand how not to play it.  Some day you’ll get it.

Righteousness and the Fruitful Field

fruitful field

Isaiah 32:16 (KJV) Then judgment shall dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness remain in the fruitful field.

Judgment dwells in the wilderness,
Righteousness in the fruitful field.

Matthew 6:33 But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.

Seeking righteousness,
brings blessings.

I Corinthians 10:1 10 Now I would not have you ignorant, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; 2 and were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea; 3 and all ate the same spiritual food; 4 and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of a spiritual rock that followed them, and the rock was Christ. 5 However with most of them, God was not well pleased, for they were overthrown in the wilderness. 6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. 7 Don’t be idolaters, as some of them were. As it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.” 8 Let’s not commit sexual immorality, as some of them committed, and in one day twenty-three thousand fell. 9 Let’s not test Christ, as some of them tested, and perished by the serpents. 10 Don’t grumble, as some of them also grumbled, and perished by the destroyer. 11 Now all these things happened to them by way of example, and they were written for our admonition, on whom the ends of the ages have come. 12 Therefore let him who thinks he stands be careful that he doesn’t fall.

13 No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

14 Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry. 15 I speak as to wise men. Judge what I say. 16 The cup of blessing which we bless, isn’t it a sharing of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, isn’t it a sharing of the body of Christ? 17 Because there is one loaf of bread, we, who are many, are one body; for we all partake of the one loaf of bread. 18 Consider Israel according to the flesh. Don’t those who eat the sacrifices participate in the altar?

19 What am I saying then? That a thing sacrificed to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything? 20 But I say that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God, and I don’t desire that you would have fellowship with demons. 21 You can’t both drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You can’t both partake of the table of the Lord and of the table of demons. 22 Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he?

23 “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are profitable. “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things build up. 24 Let no one seek his own, but each one his neighbor’s good. 25 Whatever is sold in the butcher shop, eat, asking no question for the sake of conscience, 26 for “the earth is the Lord’s, and its fullness.”  27 But if one of those who don’t believe invites you to a meal, and you are inclined to go, eat whatever is set before you, asking no questions for the sake of conscience. 28 But if anyone says to you, “This was offered to idols,” don’t eat it for the sake of the one who told you, and for the sake of conscience. For “the earth is the Lord’s, with all its fullness.” 29 Conscience, I say, not your own, but the other’s conscience. For why is my liberty judged by another conscience? 30 If I partake with thankfulness, why am I denounced for something I give thanks for? 31 Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 32 Give no occasion for stumbling, whether to Jews, or to Greeks, or to the assembly of God; 33 even as I also please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of the many, that they may be saved.

(DARBY Translation)
Numbers 14:1  And the whole assembly lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night.

2 And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron; and the whole assembly said to them, Would that we had died in the land of Egypt! or in this wilderness would that we had died!

3 And why is Jehovah bringing us to this land that we may fall by the sword, that our wives and our little ones may become a prey? Is it not better for us to return to Egypt?

4 And they said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return to Egypt.

5 Then Moses and Aaron fell upon their faces before the whole congregation of the assembly of the children of Israel.

6 And Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, of them that searched out the land, rent their garments.

7 And they spoke to the whole assembly of the children of Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to search it out, is a very, very good land.

8 If Jehovah delight in us, he will bring us into this land, and give it us, a land that flows with milk and honey;

9 only rebel not against Jehovah; and fear not the people of the land; for they shall be our food. Their defence is departed from them, and Jehovah is with us: fear them not.

10 And the whole assembly said that they should be stoned with stones. And the glory of Jehovah appeared in the tent of meeting to all the children of Israel.

11 And Jehovah said to Moses, How long will this people despise me? and how long will they not believe me, for all the signs which I have done among them?

12 I will smite them with the pestilence, and destroy them, and will make of thee a nation greater and mightier than they.

13 And Moses said to Jehovah, Then the Egyptians will hear it; for in thy might thou broughtest up this people from the midst of them;

14 and they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land, [who] have heard that thou, Jehovah, art in the midst of this people, that thou, Jehovah, lettest thyself be seen eye to eye, and that thy cloud standeth over them, and that thou goest before them, in a pillar of cloud by day, and in a pillar of fire by night;

15 if thou now slayest this people as one man, then the nations that have heard thy fame will speak, saying,

16 Because Jehovah was not able to bring this people into the land that he had sworn unto them, he has therefore slain them in the wilderness.

17 And now, I beseech thee, let the power of the Lord be great, according as thou hast spoken, saying,

18 Jehovah is slow to anger, and abundant in goodness, forgiving iniquity and transgression, but by no means clearing [the guilty], visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, upon the third and fourth [generation].

19 Pardon, I beseech thee, the iniquity of this people according to the greatness of thy loving-kindness, and as thou hast forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.

20 And Jehovah said, I have pardoned according to thy word.

21 But as surely as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of Jehovah!

22 for all those men who have seen my glory, and my signs, which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tempted me these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice,

23 shall in no wise see the land which I did swear unto their fathers: none of them that despised me shall see it.

24 But my servant Caleb, because he hath another spirit in him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he came; and his seed shall possess it.

25 (Now the Amalekites and the Canaanites dwell in the valley.) To-morrow turn you, and take your journey into the wilderness, on the way to the Red sea.

26 And Jehovah spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,

27 How long [shall I bear] with this evil assembly, which murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against me.

28 Say unto them, As surely as I live, saith Jehovah, if I do not do unto you as ye have spoken in mine ears!

29 In this wilderness shall your carcases fall; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number from twenty years old and upwards, who have murmured against me,

30 shall in no wise come into the land, concerning which I have lifted up my hand to make you dwell in it; save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

31 But your little ones, of whom ye said they should be a prey, them will I bring in, and they shall know the land that ye have despised.

32 And as to you, your carcases shall fall in this wilderness.

33 And your children shall wander in the wilderness forty years, and bear your whoredoms, until your carcases be wasted in the wilderness.

34 After the number of the days in which ye have searched out the land, forty days, each day for a year shall ye bear your iniquities forty years, and ye shall know mine estrangement [from you].

35 I Jehovah have spoken; I will surely do it unto all this evil assembly which have gathered together against me! in this wilderness they shall be consumed, and there they shall die.

36 And the men whom Moses had sent to search out the land, who returned, and made the whole assembly to murmur against him, by bringing up an evil report upon the land,

37 even those men who had brought up an evil report upon the land, died by a plague before Jehovah.

38 But Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, lived still of the men that had gone to search out the land.

39 And Moses told all these sayings to all the children of Israel; then the people mourned greatly.

40 And they rose up early in the morning, and went up to the hill-top, saying, Here are we, and we will go up to the place of which Jehovah has spoken; for we have sinned.

41 And Moses said, Why now do ye transgress the commandment of Jehovah? but it shall not prosper!

42 Go not up, for Jehovah is not among you; that ye be not smitten before your enemies;

43 for the Amalekites and the Canaanites are there before you, and ye shall fall by the sword; for as ye have turned away from Jehovah, Jehovah will not be with you.

44 Yet they presumed to go up to the hill-top; but the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, and Moses, did not depart from the midst of the camp.

45 And the Amalekites and the Canaanites who dwelt on that hill, came down and smote them, and cut them to pieces, as far as Hormah.

Revelation 19:11

scales of justice Photo Credit

Revelation 19:11 I saw the heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it is called Faithful and True. In righteousness he judges and makes war.

He both judges and makes war.

In the Old Testament, there was a pattern of God using the enemies of God as part of the chastening for Israel’s backsliding from God. When that was complete, after the enemies of God had served His purposes for the chastisement of his people, then the enemies themselves were judged by God.

Proverbs 3:11 My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord; neither be weary of his correction:

Hebrews 12:5 You have forgotten the exhortation which reasons with you as with children,

“My son, don’t take lightly the chastening of the Lord,
nor faint when you are reproved by him;
6 for whom the Lord loves, he disciplines,
and chastises every son whom he receives.”

7 It is for discipline that you endure. God deals with you as with children, for what son is there whom his father doesn’t discipline? 8 But if you are without discipline, of which all have been made partakers, then you are illegitimate, and not children. 9 Furthermore, we had the fathers of our flesh to chasten us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much rather be in subjection to the Father of spirits, and live? 10 For they indeed, for a few days, punished us as seemed good to them; but he for our profit, that we may be partakers of his holiness. 11 All chastening seems for the present to be not joyous but grievous; yet afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

Genesis 4:8 – 12 (KJV)

Genesis 4:8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

9 And the Lord said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper?

10 And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground.

11 And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother’s blood from thy hand;

12 When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth.

Folic Acid Pregnancy Tips

Folic acid is extremely important in the development of a fetus.

The Pill Problem: Oral Contraceptives Deplete More Nutrients Than Any Other Class of Drugs

Birth control pills destroy it.

Therefore, there need to be a physcian’s recommendation on how to get the folic acid levels up to par, perhaps with a good pre-natal.  Talk to your doctor, but find one who is educated in nutrition, not just in medications.

Who is John Bunyan?

The name “John Bunyan” is not in the Bible.

John Bunyan was an author who wrote “Pilgrim’s Progress”.

Pilgrim’s Progress is a story that mirrors things that happen in a Christian’s life.

There are several versions of it.  There is a longer version for adults.  There is a shorter version for children.

Interestingly, like Paul the Apostle who wrote parts of the New Testament while in prison, John Bunyan began Pilgrim’s Progress while in prison.

Churches Must Not Repeat the Same Mistake Made in WWII

stop, beware of trains

Yesterday a post was made about the importance of resisting the evil Great Reset and it was mentioned.

Today’s post continues along that them.  The speaker is from Germany and interesting history is given, but if you want to get the point in the video relevant to this post, scroll to 10:58 in the videohttps://freeworldnews.tv/watch?id=619d10107ed9b362573238c9

While she is talking about the Catholic Church in Nazi Germany, the Protestant Church made the same error.  They went along to get along until it was too late.

Two notably, and there were probably others, but two, Lutheran Pastor Niemoller and Lutheran theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer resisted.  But many did not and we know the outcome.

This is what Pastor Niemoller said (click here).   Definitions of words may have changed since then, but the point is made.

The point she is making in the video is valid for today.  We have a different authoritariasm taking over, a medical tyranny which is part of the Great Reset.  Review the post from yesterday for more information and background.

One point that must be repeated is that the Bible has commandments, statutes, laws, decrees and precepts.  These cover the totality of life from the national level to the personal level.

We cannot substitute that which applies neighbor to neighbor to the national level.  The national level exists to defeat satanic doctrines when they have gotten to the level of taking over a government.  If all force was bad, when the military, in order to repent, asked John the Baptist, “What should we do?”,  he would have told them to leave the military if it was bad.  He did not.  (Go read it in the Bible).

One of the people Jesus commended was the Roman Centurion.  Jesus said he had not found so great a faith, no not in Israel, because the Centurion, who was a Roman soldier, understood faith; the Roman Centurion  understood who Jesus was more than some religious leaders of the day.  Jesus could have told the Centurion, at that time, to quit his job, but Jesus did not.

If all judgment on evil,  national and international and supranational evil, evil which is the transgression against the Ten Commandments and against God’s laws on a national, international, and supranational level, which judgment has been codified against evil in various ways (inasmuch as nations have been able to perceive how to codify law against it and have been strong enough morally to codify law against it) by creating international laws (such as the Nuremberg Code), if such evil is not dealt with at a national, international and supranational level by checks and balances and treaties and codes resisting it, which have emerged over the years as nations which have been influenced by what is called the Judeo-Christian ethic, if evil is not checked, it will take over the world because truly evil dictators are inspired by satan.  You cannot read the Bible and come to any other conclusion.

Once God has  used evil nations for his purposes, usually to chastise his children for their apostasy, then He begins to deal with those same evil nations.  Read the Bible and see if this is not true.  Read it from cover to cover.

If there is no reason or time in history to enact judgment against those who murder people groups and children, then why did the Allies rise up against Hitler in WW II?  Why not let murderous dictatorships take over the world if you think that is what Christianity is?  But it is not.   And there should be a lot more preaching and scriptural voices speaking out these things to instruct people.

What you don’t resist will overcome you.  At a simple level of comprehension, just stand in front of a bakery filled with goodies and tell me that is not true.  Likewise, we need to resist evil doctrines in government and in our schools and in our workplaces.

The manipulation of the mind today is so great, and the brainwashing of the mind is so great, that these discussions are not front and center as they should be.  There is definitely great evil in the world right now and overcoming it should definitely be of interest to all thinking and diligent people.

In today’s world, though, once a person has listened to the propaganda, they are then presented with some entertainment to “wash it down” and so never really have to confront the issues of the day that they are living with.  But if these issues are not confronted by the church and by people of good will, then the evil rulers will one day confront everyone at the doors of their homes, places of business, and churches.

Jesus said, If you save your life, you will lose it.

What keeps church members from being engaged?  Having thought a fair amount about this and also studied history, I’ll put out some of my conclusions.  But really, in a sense, it doesn’t matter as much as taking action according to the will of God for each individual.  Jesus said, Occupy till I come.  I don’t think He wants us to turn our nations over to globalist elites who seek to kill children, destroy economies, and bring in an atheistic dictatorship.  That’s my opinion.

But here are some reasons that I think are holding back churchs.

  1.  Churches have been infiltrated, some by freemasons, some by communists.  These people can get on church boards or move up in the ranks of the church and fight true  Christianity from within.
  2. Teaching that teaches “Jesus did it all” and ignores or downplays repentance and the outworking and growth in Christian teaching and virtue.  Jesus did do it all, He alone is the Saviour of the world, His Blood alone was shed for the redemption of mankind.  He purchased salvation for each of us individually.  We each to receive it individually as well as walk it out.  It is that old question of faith versus works.  Yes, we believe Jesus did it all and we need to be born again to have access to what Jesus did on the cross.  But there is a daily outworking, otherwise why would the New Testament talk about fighting the good fight of faith against the world, the flesh, and the devil?  And the Apostle Paul, who wrote much of the New Testament said that he didn’t want to preach to others and be cast away.   And he was a chief Apostle, a writer of much of the New Testament!   If it’s a “done deal” why are there so many scriptures about pressing into Christ?   There is a certain amount of preaching that leads to passivity and complacency.
  3. The false doctrine of the “separation of church and state”.  That letter to the Danbury Baptists was written so that the Baptists would have protection by the state so that they could worship freely.   They didn’t want to be under a state governmental church.  You have to go back in history and realize that while this country was created by people seeking religious freedom, they were also fleeing a state church at home.  They were fleeing a state church in England to establish freedom of religion in America.  Today the state church is headed by Fauci and some of the church rituals are masks and shots.  Before you get too hard on people in the past, look at society today.  There is no separation of church and politics.  Church members need to influence governments and local governments in all ways to bring in righteousness.  That goes all the way from voting for and supporting the most righteous candidates, showing up at school boards, to running for office if the Lord leads.
  4. A focus on the Second Coming of Christ to the ignoring of civic duties here.  Jesus said to render to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.  A lot of times that verse is used in the context of taxes.   But let’s turn that scripture around and look at it in another light.  Rendering to Caesar what is Caesar’s also means we need to keep our Constitution operating and not let it be dismantled by a global dictatorship.  We need to function as good citizens.   We need to seek the Lord as to our involvement personally.  That may involve time.  That may involve money supporting either candidates or lawsuits.  And always, the Bible says to pray.   As was mentioned in the video, and also in the post yesterday, the United States has the greatest freedom (and is rapidly losing it).  If it is lost here, it is lost everywhere.  Cain asked…am I my brother’s keeper?  God was not pleased with that.  If we don’t care enough to save liberty here for the sake the world, to strengthen other nations in liberty, out of which all other rights flow, including religious liberties, do you think God will be pleased with us for “dropping the ball” or “dropping the baton” or “dropping the torch of liberty”?  Say it however you want, God expects things of people.  Read the Bible, it is evident.  We’re not to sit around and be a “slothful and wicked servant”.  We need to move out of that into faithfulness to whatever our call, which is different for all.  But it is fair to say that if the church were operating as it should, we probably wouldn’t have the problems we currently have.  God always lays the problems at the feet of the church.  II Chronicles 7:14  If my people, who are called by my name….Look it up.
  5. Infiltration from the world.   Mind control through TVs, phones, audio and video devices.  Propaganda media with no other option unless someone is diligent to find other sources of facts. Entertainment and distractions are all around.  Materialism is all around.  It is so easy to get involved in the thorns and thistles of the world to the ignoring of prayer.
  6. Because of the weakening of faith in the private life, there are repercussions in the public life.  God has standards that public officials should keep.  No bribery.  No abortion.  No perversion of justice.  People who are in office should be writing out the law of the Lord.  No corruption in public officials could be a blanket statement.  That requires the born again experience and sincere Christianity.  When a public official gets up and says that he can do in public life that which is forbidden by his private faith, that brings problems for the nation.  If abortion is forbidden by the faith and yet the politician backs it, it brings the whole nation under judgement.  As within, so without…those of faith must be consistent in their public office, to fulfill the statutes of faith, and if they did not run on those statutes, intending to keep those, they should not have run for office at all.  Let someone better take their place who will be stronger for righteousness and righteous government.
  7. This goes along with #6, but there are those who have failed to keep their oaths of office.  Those oaths of office are commitments by those voted into positions of authority, commiments to the people that the authority delegated by the people to the public officials will be properly used in the manner the people desired who voted them into office.  There is an oath that many take to defend “against all enemies foreign and domestic”.  That has not happened.
  8. Traitors.  Judases.  Jesus had them.  They exist today.

Dr. Zelenko here speaks out powerfully, like a prophet of old.  Listen here.

Prophets always spoke out powerfully against the evils in the societies of their day.

They spoke out and pointed out that the people and nation had left God and were serving false gods.

They spoke out when the people followed the pagan nations around them and sacrificed their children to false gods.

With All Your Getting, Get Wisdom

discipline

Here is a video about being prepared.  The Bible teaches to add to our faith virtue.  We are to seek wisdom and knowledge.

II Peter 1:5    Yes, and for this very cause adding on your part all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence; and in moral excellence, knowledge; and in knowledge, self-control; and in self-control perseverance; and in perseverance godliness; and in godliness brotherly affection; and in brotherly affection, love.

Proverbs 1:7  The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of knowledge;
but the foolish despise wisdom and instruction.

Matthew 24:43  But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what watch of the night the thief was coming, he would have watched, and would not have allowed his house to be broken into.

Luke 21:36  Therefore be watchful all the time, praying that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will happen, and to stand before the Son of Man.”

I Corinthians 16:13  Watch! Stand firm in the faith! Be courageous! Be strong!

This is a video on the four stages of preparation using a color code system.  Watch here.
